Born in Dublin, Ireland, to a Malay mixed Chinese mixed Indonesian father and Irish Italian mother. Was raised in Malaysia until age 12, moved to the UAE, Dubai, until age 16, then moved back to Dublinto study at Wesley college. Moved to Malaysia in 1996 and started a career as TV model, modeling for Clairol shampoo, Ribena, Telekom. Hosted English chart show Rim Chart Show. Hosted the Disney Channel. Then went on to star in movie Puteri impian 2 (1998). This was followed by Mimpi Moon (2000) and Janji Diana (2003), released in theaters July 2003. Another movie to be released in theaters September 2003, will be MX3, a spy comedy.

Performed in Irish theatre for two years before turning to television and film work. She is also a singer, a music veejay for MTV Asia, and a hostess for the Disney Channel. Her debut album, produced by Croatian Dubravko "Doobie" Siskic, is to be released in 2002.

Named after most well-known actress in Malaysia, Sarimah, from the 50s.
