First Look at Hugh Jackman in The Front Runner

18 September 2017 6:29 PM, PDT | MovieWeb | See recent MovieWeb news »

Hugh Jackman unveiled a first look at himself as 1980s Presidential candidate Gary Hart in the new biopic The Front Runner, which started production today. While the actor will be surrounded by an all-star supporting cast, we only get to see our leading man, which appears to be taken during one of Gary Hart's events during his Presidential campaign, before things went completely off the rails in 1987, helping spark a new era in political journalism.

This first look photo was revealed on the official Hugh Jackman Twitter. The film is based on the book All the Truth Is Out: The Week Politics Went Tabloid by Matt Bai, who also had a hand in adapting the screenplay alongside director Jason Reitman (Up in the Air) and Jay Carson (House of Cards). In 1987, U.S. Senator Gary Hart was easily considered the front runner for the Democratic Presidential nomination for the 1988 Presidential election, »

‘Halt and Catch Fire’ Season 4 Review: An Exceptional Final Run Plays Fascinating Tricks with Time

17 August 2017 12:35 PM, PDT | Indiewire | See recent Indiewire news »

So much has changed in “Halt and Catch Fire.” The future comes rushing at the series’ four protagonists faster than anyone expected. Flying four years in the blink of an edit, creators Christopher Cantwell and Christopher C. Rogers shut down Mutiny — Cameron (Mackenzie Davis) and Donna’s (Kerry Bishe) start-up gaming company — divorce Donna and Gordon (Scoot McNairy), and send Joe (Lee Pace), the idea man, into a mundane consulting gig.

But you already know that.

The time jump near the end of Season 3 marked a major step forward (literally and figuratively) in how this intimate, human story is told. While the jump is noteworthy, time is the key: Whether Cameron, Donna, Joe, and Gordon are getting ahead, such as a jump on the competition with a new piece of tech, or falling behind — losing moments they can never get back with their husband, wife, kids, or friends — the characters »

Fox in ‘Preliminary Conversations’ to Revive ‘King of the Hill’

8 August 2017 11:15 AM, PDT | Variety - TV News | See recent Variety - TV News news »

From “The X-Files” to “24: Legacy” to “Prison Break,” Fox has been in the business of reviving beloved series of late. The next series to make that list may just be “King of the Hill.”

“We have had preliminary conversations with Greg [Daniels] and Mike [Judge],” Dana Walden, Chairman and CEO of Fox Television Group, says. “I would like to explore that. We had a very preliminary conversation about that. Given what’s going on in the country, I think they had a point of view about how those characters would respond.”

Walden adds that Fox has only had one meeting earlier this summer with Daniels and Judge about the idea thus far, but she “would like to revisit it.”

“It was really just a first, exploratory, ‘Are you excited about this?’ They were both excited about it but they’re both very busy individually so it’s about finding time,” Walden says.

The Bachelor Party is Still On in Trailer for Joey Kern's Film 'Big Bear'

28 July 2017 11:25 AM, PDT | firstshowing.net | See recent FirstShowing.net news »

"This is the rebirth of Joe!" Blue Fox Entertainment has debuted the trailer for a comedy titled Big Bear, from actor-turned-filmmaker Joey Kern, who also stars in the film on top of writing & directing it. Big Bear is about a group of guys who get together for a bachelor party, only to discover his fiancée was cheating on him and now the wedding is called off. The party is still on anyway, and they wake up to discover that one of them has kidnapped the man who is sleeping with his fiancée. Joey Kern stars along with Adam Brody, Tyler Labine, Toby Huss, Zachary Knighton, and Pablo Schreiber. This seems like a "dudes" movie with nothing but dudes in the script, being dudes, and messing with other dudes. It doesn't look that good. Here's the first official trailer (+ poster) for Joey Kern's comedy Big Bear, direct from YouTube: In Big Bear, »
