From 1998 to 2008 the play-by-play announcer for Vancouver Canuck games on Rogers Sportsnet Pacific; from 2005 to 2008 also worked as the play-by-play announcer for CBC's Hockey Night in Canada program, covering the second game of their Saturday night doubleheaders.
Called Toronto Blue Jays games on TSN in the early 90's. Famous for calling the game which clinched the Jays 1993 American League East pennant. He returned as play-by-play announcer for the Jays on CBC for the 2007 and 2008 seasons.
Since 2008, Jim has been the lead play-by-play announcer for Hockey Night in Canada. In addition to the regular Saturday game, he also calls the NHL all-star game, the Winter Classic, and the Stanley Cup Finals.
