9 July 2003 | The Hollywood Reporter - Movie News | See recent The Hollywood Reporter - Movie News news »

USA Network has greenlighted the series Touching Evil from filmmakers Allen and Albert Hughes and Bruce Willis, which is set to join the network's primetime schedule early next year. The announcement was made Tuesday during USA's portion of the summer Television Critics Assn. press tour in Hollywood, where USA also unveiled a new home-improvement series and the return of the talent competition series Nashville Star for a second season. A thriller about an elite FBI squad, the pilot for Evil was directed by Allen Hughes (From Hell) and penned by Bruno Heller. The Hughes brothers will executive produce the project along with Willis and Arnold Rifkin for their Cheyenne Enterprises production banner. USA has ordered 13 episodes of the series, which stars Jeffrey Donovan as a detective who survives a gunshot to the head and then returns to work with a fearless attitude and a relentless pursuit of justice. Evil is based on a British series from British Granada Television. »
