Born Janet Louise Hubert in Chicago, Illinois, USA. She is commonly known for playing the sassy, witty, out-going, protective mom on the hit-show 90's show, The Fresh Prince Of BelAir. Janet Hubert spent most of her child-hood in the south side of Chicago in a very small neighborhood. That eventually changed for Janet Hubert when she won a scholarship to Julliard School in New York City. While in New York, Janet Hubert also joined the Alvin Ailey Dance Company, where she studied and familiarized herself with various forms of dance. This led Janet Hubert to even be on Broadway in the first Broadway run of Cats, she was Betty Buckley's understudy. However, her most memorable role came in 1990 when she debuted her television career on the hit-show, Fresh Prince Of BelAir.

Janet Hubert managed to score several guest roles on such sitcoms like, Gilmore,Girls,Friends,and The Bernie Mac Show. Hubert recently was on the Tyler Perry Hit-show, House Of Payne. Janet Hubert suffers from osteoporosis and became the ambassador for the National Osteoporosis Foundation.

Janet Hubert will forever be known as a versatile actress, and dancer. Hubert was to many, a woman who stood her grounds and was firm much like her character on Fresh Prince Of BelAir. Hubert fought to embellish her character Vivian Smith and to many was seen as a great actress because of the things Hubert had to do to make her role more versatile on the show.

The book expands on the end of Hubert's time on Fresh Prince, with her claiming that Will Smith treated her disrespectfully and was the driving force behind the demotion-level contract offer that led to the end of her time on the series. It also discusses her failed lawsuit against NBC for wrongful termination and her many life problems over the past few decades.

Refuses to participate in any reunion involving her former "The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air" (1990) cast mates due to her ongoing feud with star Will Smith.
