With the arrival of DC Fandome, the huge WB digital fan convention, comes an onslaught of news, trailers, exclusives, and reveals, starting with a new trailer for Wonder Woman 1984. There’s plenty to pick apart here with big Cheetah moments and some teases of the maniacal Maxwell Lord, but the biggest shock is the confirmation that Steve Trevor (Chris Pine) has somehow survived being shot down by Doctor Poison’s henchmen in 1954 at the climax of the first Wonder Woman movie, and even stranger the fact that he too apparently hasn’t aged.
It will likely have some fans breathing a sigh of relief, as many wondered if Patty Jenkins would follow in the footsteps of the classic Wonder Woman TV show, in which, alongside the time jump, Diana became involved with Steve Trevor’s ancestor. It would have been a strange and bold move for the movie, but this choice makes far more sense…...

Cinematographers and their camera crews often tweak equipment to fit their needs. Sometimes it results in Garrett Brown inventing, designing and building the Oscar-winning Steadicam, or Nic Sadler developing the Artemis Director’s Viewfinder, which earned him an Engineering Emmy. But DPs and camera assistants regularly create tools and accessories to help them and their colleagues become more efficient — and occasionally gain a secondary revenue stream.
Second assistant cameraperson Sandra Pennington devised the Pennybox Ltc (lens temperature control), a programmable, heated lens that prevents condensation — particularly useful on cold-weather shoots, underwater and in tropical climates. “The idea had been around for decades,” she says of the concept, based on the practice of wrapping lenses in heated dog blankets. “I took the idea further.”
Pennington read a 1,000-page electronics book and began by building smaller circuits. A friend at Google helped with programming, and another friend loaned out a motion control...

She’s already witnessed The Great War and basked in the relaxed ambiance of Themyscira, but for her next adventure, Diana Prince is headed for uncharted territory: the 1980s.
Welcome to Wonder Woman 1984, WB’s much anticipated sequel which is currently filming across parts of Washington D.C. with Chris Pine in tow. Yes, against all odds, Steve Trevor somehow lives, though writer-director Patty Jenkins has yet to offer an explanation for his shocking return and, frankly, we’re quite alright with that, as she’s likely fighting to keep spoilers at bay – even if fans have already come up with all sorts of theories of their own.
And while they continue to work out how exactly Pine’s character might be amongst the living again, we can at least confirm that the actor will have an important role in the sequel. That news comes to us from Jenkins herself,...

Amid news that Wonder Woman 1984 had commenced production, last week brought word that Steve Trevor – yes, that Steve Trevor – was returning from the dead in order to reprise his role alongside Diana Prince of Themyscira.
It’s a comeback story that’s fueled all sorts of conspiracy theories online, as curious DC fans attempt to solve the riddle: just how is Steve Trevor alive and well during the events of Wonder Woman 1984? Or, in the more likely scenario, can we expect Chris Pine to play some form of doppelgänger come 2019?
The latter theory is out of the question, it seems, after Twitter user DanielRPK (h/t Screen Rant) informed his followers that, yes, that was the ‘real’ Steve Trevor pictured in a cavernous shopping mall, as Cheetah (Kristen Wiig) and Pedro Pascal’s mystery character will be leveraging villain duties between them.

Steve Trevor lives! But how, exactly?
Now that production on Wonder Woman 1984 has officially begun – Georgetown swung its doors open to the DC sequel just yesterday – writer-director Patty Jenkins sent comic book fans into a tizzy by confirming that, yes, Chris Pine’s dashing World War I pilot will become the pic’s man out of time.
The filmmaker offered precisely zero context for the image, which found Steve Trevor, dazed and confused, trying to make sense of the 1980s whilst in the midst of a cavernous shopping mall. He’s not the only WW84 star baffled by the new era, either, after yesterday brought forth our first peek at the Immortal Warrior herself, Diana Prince, mesmerized by a series of retro televisions.
Circling back to the question at hand, though, and ComicBook.com has compiled a series of theories as to why – nay, how – Steve Trevor has returned for Wonder Woman 1984.
