Santa Barbara’s Wave Film Festival to Salute Asian Films

The Santa Barbara International Film Fest’s The Wave Film Festival will showcase Asian films from China, Japan, the Philippines, South Korea and Taiwan in its fourth edition.

The festival will be held at the Riviera Theater May 11-15. A total off 11 films will be screened.

The films include: “The Accidental Detective,” from writer-director Kim Jung-Hoon (South Korea); “The Laundryman,” directed by Chung Lee (Taiwan); “Sweet Bean,” written and directed by Naomi Kawase (Japan); “Right Now, Wrong Then,” writer-director Sang-soo Hong (South Korea) and “Zinnia Flower,” director Tom Shu-Yu Lin (Taiwan).

Other titles include “Blanka,” from writer-director Kohki Hasei (the Philippines and Japan); ” “The Chronicles of Evil,” writer-director Baek Woon-hak (South Korea); “Collective Invention,” writer-director Oh-Kwang Kwon (South Korea); “Girl on the Edge,” writer-director Geun-buem Park (South Korea); and “Mr. Six,” director Hu Guan (China); “My Love, Don’t Cross That River,” writer-director Jin Moyoung (South Korea).
