She was set to repeat in the Berlin Olympic Games of 1936, but she ran afoul of officials because of her behavior on the boat trip to Germany. Apparently, women athletes weren't allowed to drink, shoot craps, or sing in cabarets. Ms. Holm paid for the double standard and was kicked off the team. See more »
