Seoul Searching” follows a group of Korean teenagers in 1986 who travel to South Korea to participate in a government-sponsored program to help reconnect them with their roots. They’ve come from all over the world, from the United States to Hamburg, to party hardy in their homeland, flirting and drinking the nights away. However, the teens also learn a little bit about their ancestors’ struggles, and slowly come to terms with their own issues at home and abroad as well. The film is also executive produced by Ken Jeong, best known for his role on Dan Harmon’s sitcom “Community” as well as his appearances in “The Hangover” movies. “Seoul Searching” stars Justin Chon (“21 and Over”), Jessika Van (“The Gambler”), In-Pyo Cha (“Crossing”), Teo Yoo (“Day Night Day Night”), and more.

Upfronts Diary Day 1: Seen and Heard During TV’s Biggest Week

Variety‘s TV team brings you all the news and dish from TV’s biggest week of the year.

The 2016 Upfronts officially kicked off Sunday night with UTA’s annual party. Monday, NBC is the first of the major broadcasters to present to ad buyers, and for the first time, all of NBC’s cable networks, plus Telemundo, will be consolidated together for a jam-packed morning at Radio City Music Hall. Fox is up in the afternoon at the Beacon Theater, followed by the network’s annual mega-party at Wollman Rink in Central Park, which this year, is held at the same time as Telemundo’s private Jennifer Lopez concert. Also that night, CAA and Wme will both hold cocktail parties.

USA's "Colony" Series Gets Renewed

USA Network has renewed its invasion drama "Colony" for a thirteen episode second season. The pick-up comes three episodes into the new series' initial ten episode run.

Carlton Cuse and Ryan Condal executive produce the series which stars Josh Holloway and Sarah Wayne Callies as a husband and wife struggling to survive and bring liberty back to the people of Los Angeles following an occupation.

The show has brought in steady ratings for USA since its launch on digital platforms two weeks before its terrestrial airing. The show joins their much buzzed about hacker drama "Mr. Robot" and long running dramas like "Suits" and "Royal Pains".

Holloway plays a former FBI agent who collaborates with the forces of the alien occupation in Los Angeles order to get his son back, while Sarah Wayne Callies (Lori from The Walking Dead) plays his wife. Colony” has been renewed for a second season at USA Network, Variety has learned.

The renewal news comes after just three episodes have aired and on the day of the fourth episode of the 10-episode first season, which is on tonight at 10 p.m.

Starring “Lost” favorite Josh Holloway and Sarah Wayne Callies (The Walking Dead,” “Prison Break”), “Colony” centers on one family’s struggle to survive and bring liberty back to the people of an occupied Los Angeles.

The drama from Legendary Television and Universal Cable Productions comes from mega-showrunner Carlton Cuse (“Lost,” “The Strain,” “Bates Motel”) and Ryan Condal.

Colony spoiler alert: The aliens occupiers aren’t leaving anytime soon.

USA Network has renewed its extraterrestrial-esque drama starring Josh Holloway and Sarah Wayne Callies for a second season, TVLine has learned. Additionally, the cabler has ordered 13 episodes, up from Season 1’s 10.

Colony, which reunited Holloway with his former Lost Ep Carlton Cuse, premiered last month to 1.4 million total viewers and a 0.4 demo rating, held steady in Week 2 and at last tally was pulling 1.2 mil and a 0.5. It’s average Live+3 audience stands at 3.4 million viewers.
