Days of Our Lives: 2017-18 Season Ratings (updated 2/19/18)

Despite Days of Our Lives being the lowest-rated of the four remaining network soap operas, NBC hasn't dropped it. It looked like the network might cancel the series last season but they renewed it in February 2017. Will it be renewed for the 2018-19 season (season 54) or, is this venerable soap in its final days? The 13th episode of Criminal Minds‘ 13th season was not a lucky one in the ratings department.

Leading out of an Amazing Race double header, the CBS crime drama drew 5.3 million total viewers and a 0.9 demo rating, hitting and tying series lows.

Tar averaged 6.2 mil and a 1.2, down 20 percent week-to-week.

Days of Our Lives: NBC Exec Discusses Soap's Future

Hey Salemites, there's some good news coming out of the TCA summer press tour. When asked about the status of Days of Our Lives, NBC Entertainment President Jennifer Salke had some encouraging words, about the soap, since new head-writer Ron Carlivati's episodes began airing on July 19th, 2017. Soap Opera Digest reports Salke said, “We’re feeling really great about the new team in place and we’re evaluating it as it goes.... We love the new Days and we hope it stays on the schedule forever … Everyone’s feeling really good.”A soap opera, Days of Our Lives first premiered on November 8, 1965.
