Teen Wolf Season 2: First Footage!

7 May 2012 9:49 AM, PDT | TVfanatic | See recent TVfanatic news »

Teen Wolf returns to MTV on June 3 for the special Sunday night premiere of season two (prior to moving to its regular night of Monday on June 4), and fans of this thriller can now sit back and enjoy the first footage from a summer's worth of new episodes.

While the original season two trailer simply depicted various cast members at their frightening best, the following video features one suspenseful scene after another.

It specifically hones in on Michael Hogan. The former Battlestar Galactica actor will play a key upcoming role, taking on the character of Allison's grandfather, Gerard, a werewolf hunter who wants his relative to join the family business.

We find them. We kill them. We kill them all, he says below. Yes, battle lines are about to be drawn, Teen Wolf fans, and a declaration of war is about to be made. Watch now:

Loved Homeland? Wait until you see its inspiration, Hatufim

4 May 2012 4:06 PM, PDT | The Guardian - TV News | See recent The Guardian - TV News news »

The Israeli drama taps into feelings even stronger than those of its Us counterpart. Michael Hogan talks to Gideon Raff, the man behind both

Hostage-taking is a raw, sensitive subject in Israel. There are 1,500 former prisoners of war living there – an incredible number, given its population is around the same as London's. Meanwhile, Israel has released an estimated 10,000 imprisoned Palestinian terrorists in the past 25 years, usually in group deals to free its own captured troops. Statistics show that many released terror suspects soon reoffend, meaning Israeli PoWs become crippled by guilt. Soldiers released in prisoner exchanges report feeling blamed for every terrorist attack after the swap. When a bus gets blown up, they see accusing eyes on them, as if the bombers being freed to commit such atrocities is their fault.

No surprise, then, that Prisoners of War (Hatufim) – the Israeli TV drama on which Channel 4's Us hit »

Does 'The Avengers' Live Up To The Hype?

4 May 2012 2:41 PM, PDT | Huffington Post | See recent Huffington Post news »

"Marvel's The Avengers" has arrived in theaters with a bang.

Joss Whedon's superhero supergroup mash-up has already earned over $300 million around the globe and is poised for near-record grosses in U.S. theaters over the next few days. Everyone you know will probably see "The Avengers," which raises the obvious question: does the film live up to its advance hype?

To get to the bottom of this, HuffPost Entertainment drafted executive entertainment editor Michael Hogan (who says the hype is justified) and editor Christopher Rosen (who says it isn't) to debate the merits of "Marvel's The Avengers." While they arm-wrestle to see which one gets to be Iron Man, check out their arguments below. Then cast your vote and keep the conversation going in the comments section.

Is 'Beasts Of The Southern Wild' A Future Oscar Nominee?

2 May 2012 1:56 PM, PDT | Huffington Post | See recent Huffington Post news »

"Beasts of the Southern Wild" was beloved upon its debut at the Sundance Film Festival in January.

"Visually stunning and boldly unorthodox, 'Beasts of the Southern Wild' spins a fearsome and intoxicating tale of life beyond the borders of civilization," wrote HuffPost Executive Entertainment Editor Michael Hogan after seeing the film in Park City, Utah.

"One of the most striking narrative debuts ever to debut at the Sundance Film Festival," Todd McCarthy noted in THR, a sentiment echoed by New York Times critic Manhola Dargis.

Impressive! So, does "Beasts of the Southern Wild" look that good? Judging from the new trailer, it does! Which raises the question: does 2012 have its first serious Oscar contender?

The film, which stars newcomer Quvenzhané Wallis, is about a young girl who tries to overcome immense odds to save her father and her bayou home after a biblical-like hurricane strikes. Dramatic! There are »

Esai Morales in Fairly Legal, Husbands & Grimm get second seasons, The Hunger Games premiere, and more updates

21 March 2012 3:10 AM, PDT | CapricaTV | See recent CapricaTV news »

It's been a while since the last proper news roundup, so some of the news today won't be all that new. Posting it anyway in case anyone missed it elsewhere.

Fairly Legal is back tonight at 9 pm on USA. Esai Morales guest stars in the season premiere and will be appearing in several more episodes. Other BSG and Caprica folks appearing on the show this season include Michael Hogan, Ben Cotton and Zak Santiago. And yeah, Michael Trucco is still a regular.

The Voice of TV has some recent Bts pics, and Buddy TV talked to Esai (more at the link):

What do we need to know about Esai Morales' character?

Esai Morales: I'm playing Aaron Davidson, thank you. No hablo espanol in this show... I am a politician, District Attorney. I am, I guess, a bit of a quintessential slimeball. Sleazebag is how I've been described, »

'Fairly Legal': Sarah Shahi is back for Season 2 - what did you think of the 'creative changes'?

16 March 2012 8:57 PM, PDT | Zap2It - From Inside the Box | See recent Zap2It - From Inside the Box news »

When USA renewed "Fairly Legal" for a second season, they replaced showrunner Michael Sardo with Peter Ocko and decided to make some "creative changes," which entailed focusing more on the core characters than the mediation of the week, making it more of a character study than a legal procedural.

In the Season 2 premiere, it's hard to say whether those changes were readily apparent. On the one hand, there were some wonderful story arcs introduced that will play out all season - Reed & Reed being in trouble financially and bringing in a new partner, Justin deciding to challenge his current (awful) boss for the District Attorney's job, Justin's infidelity confession.

However, a large portion of the episode was still dominated by the case of the week, with Kate playing Nancy Drew instead of mediating. We're not criticizing - it was an interesting case and any time Michael Hogan gets punched by John Aylward, »

A few quick updates.

To start with some frakking excellent news, Deadline writes that Paula Malcomson has landed a leading role in Showtime's new pilot, Ray Donovan:

A dark family drama with comedic undertones, the show centers on Ray (Schreiber), a professional “fixer” for La’s rich and famous, the go-to guy in Hollywood who deftly solves the highly confidential problems of the city’s most intriguing personalities but can’t quite escape the damage in his own troubled family. Malcomson will play Ray’s wife Abby, a Boston tough girl who is still finding it hard to assimilate into the fast lane of Hollywood.

Luke Camilleri makes an appearance in tonight's episode of Arctic Air, "Hijacked," which airs at 9 pm on CBC in Canada. Michael Hogan is also back. Hit the pic to see a gallery of stills from the episode.

Moviefone is Headed to Sundance: 7 Films We're Looking Forward To Seeing

19 January 2012 10:56 AM, PST | Moviefone | See recent Moviefone news »

Moviefone is headed to Sundance! Well, technically, I, along with my esteemed editor, Michael Hogan, are headed to the Sundance Film Festival. I'm equally excited and scared about this year's festival -- excited because there are a lot of movies that I want to see; scared because, as a first time attendee, I have zero idea what I'm doing. (If you happen to be at Sundance and you see a very confused looking person that's about to cry, that's me.) So, for the next few days, expect an onslaught of updates that will range anywhere from maniacal glee to raw terror. With that in mind, here are seven movies that I hope I get to see. I say "hope" because the chances are better than not that I'll be buried in a snow-covered roadside ditch, or something, before I ever make it to a theater. Though, if the fates allow, »
