Tonight on Criminal Minds: Episode 7.06 "Epilogue"

2 November 2011 5:04 AM, PDT | TVovermind.com | See recent TVovermind.com news »

Death is never too far on Criminal Minds but tonight the Bau team face a killer who is haunted by his past, a past that leads him to relive death. Death and the afterlife are thrust to the forefront of the discussion; this turns personal and Rossi (Joe Mantegna) has to contemplate the serious request his ex-wife asked of him. Warning light spoilers ahead.

The discovery of several bodies leads the team to Angeles National Forest, a vast Californian mountain lake that has been turned from a beauty spot into a crime scene. The killer appears to be unorthodox in his method; drowning his victims, followed by resuscitation and then killing them all over again. It is as if he is trying to relive the death moment and he wants to know if his victims can see an afterlife in those moments when he first kills them.

On Criminal Minds tonight the team have to find a child abductor in St Louis and Rossi (Joe Mantegna) has to deal with a personal crisis when his ex-wife turns up with some shocking news. Warning light spoilers ahead.

The children that are being taken appear to be coming from homes that that the abductor believes to be negligent; his motive is to give these children a better home. This theory of potentially unfit parenting is backed up in the sneak peek below; this shows that one child wasn't reported missing for 48 hours after the mother had dropped him off at his grandmother's house. She made the error of not checking that he had actually gone into the house and now the Bau team are at a severe disadvantage in finding the boy, due to the time that has lapsed.

Once the dust that comes with pulling Prentiss “out of the grave” settles, CBS’ Criminal Minds will take a breath and use some of its seventh season to explore the more personal side of the hard-working BAU agents.

“Every time we can reveal another layer of one of our characters, all the better,” executive producer Erica Messer told TVLine Tuesday at a Paley Center event tributing the crime drama (which returns Sept. 21). “We study how everybody else ticks, how all the bad guys tick, and I want to be able to study our heroes, »

Alphas Season 1 Episode 5 Review: Rachel’s Sensitivity Training

9 August 2011 7:47 PM, PDT | BuzzFocus.com | See recent BuzzFocus.com news »

Never Let Me Go” is the classic procedural misdirection where we’re introduced to an abrasive, arrogant character who the entire cast recognizes as an antagonist but the one we suspect the least expect, in this case, Ms. Elkhart (Isabella Hoffman) is the alpha they’re looking for. Ms. Elkhart’s son was bullied and badgered as a young boy who was too small and weak to make the football team in a small town where football is the one sport to role them all. Chris is further made into bully fodder when he was appointed equipment manager. I grew up in Northeast Ohio where football Is the pulse of the area and the entire state. And it’s a more feverish pitch in the smaller towns like Fenton, Pa. So I can understand a kid going through misery to be accepted, even for football. It happens all the time, »

Criminal Minds Season 7 Spoilers

8 August 2011 5:26 AM, PDT | TVovermind.com | See recent TVovermind.com news »

When Criminal Minds returns next month for season 7 the big story that fans are waiting to be resolved is how Emily Prentiss (Paget Brewster) will come back from the 'dead' and how the members of the Bau team will react to this. Only Hotch (Thomas Gibson) and J.J. (A.J. Cook) knew that Prentiss was indeed alive, leaving the rest of the team open to feelings of betrayal.

In reality the cast look more than happy to be back together as the photo (right) shows. This photograph is courtesy of Thomas Gibson's official Tumblr page, which features more excellent behind the scenes images of the cast and other musings.

Executive producer Erica Messer has now revealed to Entertainment Weekly some details of how the characters will react to this big news at the start of season 7:

Criminal Minds Season 7 Gets Ex Love

5 August 2011 12:22 PM, PDT | Boomtron | See recent Boomtron news »

Criminal Minds’ Agent Rossi (Joe Mantegna) will be taking a (likely painful) trip down memory lane in the upcoming seventh season when one of his three ex-wives comes back in to his life. Isabella Hofmann (Homicide Life on the Street) will play Rossi’s first wife (sorry, no name) in a two-episode arc where she needs his help. How typical of women. They only pay you any attention when they want something.

My wife would kill me if she saw I wrote that.

The new Criminal Minds showrunner, Erica Messer, confirmed the casting to TVLine while saying, “She’s the love of his life,” and “We’ll meet her in Episode 5.” Seems to me if Rossi is still in love with her that would explain the failure of subsequent marriages. How can you have a successful marriage when your heart yearns for someone else? More importantly, why would he let »
