Supergirl Faces A Tricky Dilemma In New Pics For “Alex”

See Full Gallery Here

With season 2 of Supergirl accelerating towards what we hope will be an explosive finale, things are heating up for Kara and the gang. This week it gets personal (the tagline: “It couldn’t Be more personal”) when a mysterious villain kidnaps Alex, Kara’s adoptive sister. She’s threatened with death unless Kara uses her powers for evil and busts a notorious criminal out of prison. Meanwhile, Rhea (Teri Hatcher) is hanging out with Lena Luthor, and you know that’s not going to go to happy places.

Fortunately, Alex isn’t some dizzy and helpless damsel in distress, and is determined to save herself without the help of her super-powered sister. Reports say she’s down to employ a credit card in a very creative manner and use some Navy Seal tricks to escape drowning.

It sounds like action-packed stuff that’ll hopefully continue Supergirl’s winning streak. »

Supergirl Set Photos Confirm Mark Gibbon As General Zod

27 April 2017 9:32 AM, PDT | We Got This Covered | See recent We Got This Covered news »

As we continue to live in a digital age, it becomes exceedingly harder for anyone to keep their cards close to their vest, especially if you work in the entertainment industry. When I was a kid, you’d have to wait to read about the latest buzz surrounding upcoming superhero productions until the newspaper arrived or in a magazine such as Starlog. These days, however, word can get out faster than an official announcement can be made, a recent example of which is a developing situation involving Supergirl.

You see, just last week, the Dex-Starr was let out of the bag (names of any prominent Kryptonian cats escape me at the moment, so you’re going to have to settle for the most adorable member of the Red Lantern Corps), and none other than Mark Gibbon was revealed to be playing General Zod.

Now, it’s entirely possible that such »

Supergirl Sneak Peek: Lena Leaves Kara Blushing After a Run-In With Her Ex

The above clip reunites Lena Luthor with her ex-boyfriend, tech genius Jack Spheer (played by iZombie‘s Rahul Kohli), and she isn’t the least bit subtle about wanting to catch up one-on-one — after sending Kara into a giggle fit with some well-deserved flattery, of course.

Mark Gibbon reportedly cast as General Zod in Supergirl

21 April 2017 9:33 AM, PDT | Flickeringmyth | See recent Flickeringmyth news »

It looks like Melissa Benoist’s Girl of Steel is set to kneel before Zod, with Bleeding Cool reporting that Canadian actor Mark Gibbon is currently shooting scenes as the Kryptonian warlord in Supergirl.

Gibbon has plenty of previous experience with comic book roles, having appeared in the likes of Man of Steel, Arrow and Smallville, along with voice roles in the Fantastic Four: World’s Greatest Heroes, Iron Man: Armored Adventures, X-Men: Evolution and Spider-Man Unlimited animated series.

This will mark the fourth live-action version of General Zod after Terence Stamp (Superman: The Movie, Superman II), Callum Blue (Smallville) and Michael Shannon (Man of Steel).

Previously confirmed as returning for the season two finale of Supergirl are Tyler Hoechlin as Superman and Calista Flockhart as Cat Grant. »

Supergirl: Mark Gibbon Reportedly Cast As Zod

21 April 2017 9:29 AM, PDT | We Got This Covered | See recent We Got This Covered news »

Much like some of its other DC TV brethren, Supergirl‘s season finale will be here before you know it. And, if recent reports are to be believed, The CW has one hell of a surprise in store for us.

You see, according to Bleeding Cool, actor Mark Gibbon was recently spotted on set inhabiting the role of none other than General Zod. The outlet expects an official announcement to swiftly follow, which should happen if this proves true because, let’s not forget, official synopses for episodes tend to find their way online three weeks prior to airing. Odds are the episode in question is the season finale, currently slated to air on Monday, May 22, so we should know for certain before long.

This bit of information doesn’t seem like a leap in the slightest, especially when you factor in the knowledge that Tyler Hoechlin is set to »

Calista Flockhart to return as Cat Grant in Supergirl finale

12 April 2017 11:52 AM, PDT | Flickeringmyth | See recent Flickeringmyth news »

It looks like Tyler Hoechlin won’t be the only returning face in Supergirl‘s second season finale. Calista Flockhart will reprise her role as media mogul Cat Grant in the final two episodes of the season. It’s not clear what spurs her return to National City, but the episodes will air May 15th and 22nd.

Throughout the first season of Supergirl, Cat Grant was a strong presence in the show, being both Kara’s boss and a kind of confidant to Supergirl. The start of this season though saw her decide to take a leave of absence to sort out some personal issues as she felt fulfilled with everything she accomplished with CatCo and wanted to try something new. In reality, though, Supergirl‘s move from Los Angeles to Vancouver in its switch from CBS to The CW was not a change Flockhart was willing to make.

Supergirl Season 2: Calista Flockhart and Tyler Hoechlin Return!

12 April 2017 10:52 AM, PDT | TVfanatic | See recent TVfanatic news »

Some fan-favorite characters are making their way back to National City!

Calista Flockhart is returning as Cat Grant for the final two episodes of Supergirl Season 2, while Tyler Hoechlin has been tapped to appear as Clark Kent in the season finale.

Flockhart was last seen on The CW hit on Supergirl Season 2 Episode 2, after opting against keeping up her series regular status after a change in filming location from Los Angeles to Vancouver.

The quick-witted character departed her company, leaving it in the trusty hands of James Olsen. Details are scarce about how she will re-appear on the show.

We're sure she'll have a lot to say about Kara being fired from Catco. The two women became very close throughout Supergirl Season 1, with many fans left questioning whether Grant knew about Kara's superhero status.

Without a doubt, Supergirl has certainly stepped up its game in its second season. Don’t get me wrong, season 1 was certainly no slouch, but you have to admit that since its move to The CW, it’s been able to breathe more freely and has achieved new heights.

In that time, one wonderful addition to the show has been that of Lena Luthor, played by Katie McGrath. While attempting to step out of her notorious brother’s shadow and bring LuthorCorp – now L-Corp – into the light, she’s also forged an interesting relationship with one Kara Danvers while confounding her own mother, Lillian, at every turn. Fortunately, she’s been promoted to series regular for season 3.

Anyway, anyone remotely familiar with this show is well aware that earlier this season Tyler Hoechlin suited up, »

Tyler Hoechlin to Return as the Man of Steel for 'Supergirl' Season 2 Finale

11 April 2017 10:23 PM, PDT | Entertainment Tonight | See recent Entertainment Tonight news »

Superman is flying back to join up with Supergirl in National City!

Tyler Hoechlin, who guest stars as the Man of Steel on the hit CW series, is set to return for its upcoming second season finale, E! reports.

News: Superman Tyler Hoechlin Steals the Show at ‘Supergirl’ Comic-Con Panel

Hoechlin made his debut as the iconic hero during the season two premiere when he helped his super-powered cousin Kara (Melissa Benoist) with a few major crises in her fair city. He eventually departed back for Metropolis in episode two.

No details regarding the season finale's plot have been revealed, so it's still unknown what calamity requires Superman to return to his cousin's side.

Hoechlin spoke with Et last July when he first stepped into the shoes of the legendary character, and opened up on what it was like to take up the Superman mantle.

Superman Returns To Supergirl For Its Season 2 Finale!

11 April 2017 4:30 PM, PDT | LRMonline.com | See recent LRM Online news »

Like many folks, I was a bit skeptical about the CW introducing Superman in the Supergirl series. There were a variety of reasons for it. While I enjoy Supergirl, there is no mistaking it was quite the cheesy show, and I was worried at how this may affect the portrayal of the Man of Steel. Would the cheeseball factor be too over-the-top -- even for Superman? My other concern revolved around the state of Supergirl as a series. For its entire run at the time, Kara would talk about being under Superman’s shadow, and despite a few silhouettes here and there, they managed to avoid showing him. Would finally showing Superman cast her right back under the shadow?

The answer was yes and no. First of all, Tyler Hoechlin’s portrayal of the character was pitch perfect. It was just the right blend of cheeseball and badass — a real »

Tyler Hoechlin’s Superman Will Return For The Supergirl Season 2 Finale

11 April 2017 4:30 PM, PDT | We Got This Covered | See recent We Got This Covered news »

Despite the fact we’ll soon have two versions of the Flash running around thanks to Ezra Miller’s take on the hero in Justice League and Grant Gustin doing his thing on The CW, Warner Bros. continues to keep certain characters off television. That’s why we haven’t seen Batman show up in Arrow, and it’s also why Tyler Hoechlin’s Superman was only in two episodes of Supergirl when the new season premiered last year.

Clearly realizing that audiences aren’t stupid enough to confuse the small screen Man of Steel with the one played by Henry Cavill though, it’s now been confirmed that Hoechlin is set to reprise the role in the upcoming season finale of Supergirl. No details have been revealed about what he’ll be getting up to there, but this is still exciting news and comes with a myriad of possibilities. »
