While Smallville ended with Clark Kent becoming Superman, many fans were left disappointed by the fact that we never got to see a full shot of Tom Welling in the iconic costume, instead having to make do with a brief glimpse of a CGI Man of Steel.
It’s been said that it was ultimately Welling’s decision not to don the Superman costume in the episode, and in a new interview with Entertainment Weekly, the actor has revealed that the original intention was for him to suit up early on in the finale, but he wanted to adhere to the show’s “no tights, no flights” rule.
“It was literally something that the entire series was behind in not doing that,” said Welling. “We did things on that show where we didn’t call them powers, we called them abilities — you weren’t allowed to say powers; you just »

Even six years after it ended, it’s still a massive point of contention for Smallville fans that Clark Kent never wore the classic red and blue Superman outfit in the long-running CW superhero drama. The feature-length finale did see Clark rip open his shirt to reveal the iconic ‘S’ shield in its final moments, but for many it was not enough after ten years of build-up.
While speaking with EW, star Tom Welling defended the choice to keep his character out of the tights. He also revealed that he was a major reason why it never happened:
“Our series finale was supposed to be, in the first act, Clark puts on the suit and flies around, saves Lois on a plane, and does this other stuff. It was a call that I had with Peter Roth, who is the head of Warner Bros. Television, who’s a good friend »

One of the many cool things about Supergirl is that it’s brought back several actors who’ve contributed to the enduring legacy of Superman, albeit in different roles. To date, we’ve seen the likes of Dean Cain and Helen Slater show up, in addition to Smallville alums such as Laura Vandervoort and Erica Durance. Well, Durance won’t be appearing until season 3 in the recast role of Alura, but you get the idea.
But even with names as impressive as those, we can’t discuss this topic without addressing an elephant in the room named Tom Welling. After defining Clark Kent for a generation in ten seasons of the aforementioned Smallville, countless fans have been wondering when he’ll be booking a flight to National City.
Well, as it turns out, he’s had talks with Arrowverse mastermind Greg Berlanti about doing such a thing. But when Welling spoke with Entertainment Weekly, »

"The most dangerous man I've ever met... we need to take him down." From the director of Con Air and The Mechanic comes another new action movie. An official UK trailer has debuted for a new British action movie called Stratton, also known as Stratton: First Into Action. The name "First Into Action" comes directly from the book that this is based on, a "Dramatic Personal Account of Life in the Sbs." Dominic Cooper stars as Stratton, a British Special Boat Service commando who tracks down an international terrorist cell. The cast includes Connie Nielsen, Tom Felton, Tyler Hoechlin, Gemma Chan, Thomas Kretschmann, Derek Jacobi, and Austin Stowell. This actually looks good, if I might say, though it's clearly playing up the patriotic anti-terrorism angle more than anything. How dare they target London?! Cooper to the rescue. Here's the first official UK trailer (+ poster) for Simon West's Stratton, »

The end is near for Teen Wolf.
MTV’s hit werewolf drama presented its final Comic-Con panel in cavernous Hall H on Thursday afternoon -- and the stars took an emotional trip down memory lane before gearing up for the final 10 episodes, which features the returns of Tyler Hoechlin, Charlie Carver and Colton Haynes. Though there was no mention of a reported Teen Wolf revival, Tyler Posey and surprise guest Dylan O’Brien broke down in tears as they reminisced about their life-changing seven years together -- and were treated to their original audition tapes.
“We were 18 when we got started on the show. We’re adults now. We’re grown-a** men and it’s really emotional for me,” Posey said, fighting back his emotions. “It’s hard to explain how close this show is to my heart and how close everyone here is to me. They make me happier and they saved my life.”

Without a doubt, the second season of Supergirl certainly gave us a lot to remember. Not only did we get to see Kara Zor-El interact with the Arrowverse, but we also finally met her cousin in Superman, played to perfection by Tyler Hoechlin.
As for the constants that have remained for the series, David Harewood’s take on J’onn J’onzz/Martian Manhunter has delighted many fans and, to be completely honest, has become my favorite character on the show. Seriously, Harewood’s ability to play an absolute badass and to juxtapose that by showing a softer side when conveying the loneliness that comes with being the Last Son of Mars – as well as the affection he’s developed for his new “family” – always makes for good television.
What hasn’t gone as smoothly, however, is the other role he’s taken on, that of Hank Henshaw/Cyborg Superman. »

Warner Bros. is pitching directors on a live action adaptation of the popular comic “Superman: Red Son,” according to writer Mark Millar. The news was revealed in a Twitter exchange between Millar and “Kong: Skull Island” director Joran Vogt-Roberts, who said he pitched the idea to the studio “months ago.”
“Did you hear WB pitching directors Red Son? Two diff pals in last 2 months. This truly is Putin’s America,” said Millar. “Wait, really? Because I pitched it to them months ago and was told no. It’s the most punk rock thing the Dceu could do in my mind,” replied Vogt-Roberts.
