Directors Adam Green and Joe Lynch aren’t just successful horror filmmakers and best friends—they’re dog lovers, too. They’ll be putting their mouths where your money is for a live, three-day podcast to raise money for a dog rescue that’s near and dear to the heart of The Movie Crypt, the successful podcast Green and Lynch co-host weekly on GeekNation.
No lineup or list of guests have been made official yet, but The Movie Crypt has played host to countless actors, directors, and writers from the horror community since it launched in 2013, from Sid Haig and Kane Hodder, to Danielle Harris and Mick Garris, to Joe Dante and Leigh Whannell, to James Gunn and on and on and on. I wouldn’t be surprised if some of these friends of the podcast stop by the “Save the Yorkies” marathon, which will raise money for Save a Yorkie Resuce, »

Last year, a Kickstarter campaign was launched for an innovative new video game set within the iconic Friday the 13th franchise. We've already seen a few sneak peeks of Friday the 13th: The Game, but with the release set for sometime this fall, today we have the first full trailer with gameplay footage. Fans can see how to control the iconic Jason Voorhees in this exciting game, which will be released on Xbox One, PS4 and PC this fall.
Friday the 13th: The Game comes from the team at Gun Media, who released this new trailer on YouTube. Gun Media has teamed up with Kane Hodder, who played http://movieweb.com/friday-13th-video-game-clips-jason-kills/Jason Voorhees four times on the big screen (Friday The 13th Part VII: The New Blood, Friday the 13th Part VIII: Jason Takes Manhattan, Jason Goes To Hell: The Final Friday and Jason X), along with makeup effects artist Tom Savini and the franchise's co-creator, Sean S. Cunningham, for this new interactive thriller. For the first time ever, fans will get to become iconic slasher Jason Voorhees and hunt camp counsolers.
Friday the 13th: The Game is a third-person, asymmetrical multiplayer title where one player controls Jason Voorhees while the remaining seven control camp counselors trying to survive the night. That's right...1v7 multiplayer set in the semi-open world of Camp Crystal Lake! It's a classic horror fan's dream, no shaky cam, no found footage. This game aims to revitalize the golden era of slashers, putting fans at the controls of each horrific, blood-splattered moment. Friday the 13th is the definition of horror to the millions of fans around the world. A masked killer going after the young and vulnerable; it grabs our attention, it frightens us, and yet we all come back for more. Friday the 13th: The Game will give you the feeling of horror and dread that you expect from Jason Voorhees.
Kane Hodder will provide the motion capture work for Jason Voorhees, with Tom Savini executive producing and providing cinematography, while Harry Manfredini will provide the score. The Gun Media team was originally planning on making a Friday the 13th game entitled Summer Camp, but their plans were expanded once Sean S. Cunningham came on board and granted them the video game license. There will be several different gameplay options, and fans will even get to create their own movie trailer based on the games they play. The iconic character Tommy Jarvis, played by Corey Feldman in Friday The 13th: The Final Chapter, will also return as an in-game guide for the player.
It's also worth noting that Paramount is slowly developing a new reboot of the Friday the 13th franchise, which will reportedly be set in the 1980s and introduce fans to Jason's family, including his father, Elias Voorhees. Paramount has set a January 13, 2017 release date for this new movie, but since no cast members have been announced, and we don't know when production will begin, that date may be pushed. While we wait for more on this horror reboot, take a look at the first gameplay trailer for Friday the 13th: The Game. »
Originally called Summer Camp, the folks at Gun Media scored the Friday the 13th license and got involvement from Kane Hodder, Sean S. Cunningham and even bring back composer Harry Manfredini. They evolved their game from the ground up into Friday the 13th: The Game.
Full disclosure, I backed this game on Kickstarter. I dig the franchise quite a bit, like most of you do, so it was a no-brainer for me. I received an email last night stating that they would live-stream some Early Alpha gameplay footage. However, as someone who works a day job, it was past my bedtime for a Sunday night. Luckily, it looks like Gun Media has uploaded the footage on their YouTube channel. Check it out below:
Ok, excuse me for a second…
Seriously, you can tell that this was made with love and by people who have a genuine love for the franchise. While I would love a new entry, this will tide us over (if not suppress our need for another film). Everything about the clip above just makes me so damn happy. The only thing that I was personally upset about is not knowing (which was a fault of my own) about voting for the different looks of Jason and what won (Jason’s look from Jason Goes to Hell and Jason Takes Manhattan were among the 3 extra looks). Manfredini’s score is so effectively used in this clip along with Pamela Voorhees’ motivational taunts for Jason to “hunt them down”. I’m taking a couple of days off work when this comes out!
If you missed out on the Kickstarter, you can still take part in the Slasher Backer kit. Via the link provided, you can pre-order the game still along with an art book or the soundtrack or some exclusive Dlc clothing packs! If you’re a fan of the franchise and haven’t helped these fine folks out, do so…Now!

When it comes to possession and/or haunting films, it takes a lot to set yourself apart from the countless other films that get released every year, most of which have similar plots or approaches. When a film does try something a bit unique and attempts to stand on its own, it can either lead to a great film, or in the case of The Haunting Of Alice D, a film that is taken down only by itself.
Revolving around an 1890’s brother, led by a cruel pimp played by Kane Hodder, The Haunting Of Alice D does a decent job of setting forth a tone for the film, and is actually pretty interesting. Hodder’s pimp uses a prostitute’s love for her younger sister Alice against her, forcing the young Alice to sell her body just as much. It’s a new approach to the horror genre and »

The guy who played Jason Voorhees four times in the "Friday the 13th" movies just announced he's not doing any more horror flicks -- but check your calendar. There's gotta be a twist. Kane Hodder -- who's acted in slasher films since the early '80s -- posted this video, explaining why he's no longer comfortable with movie violence. His message is almost moving. Almost. Thanks for taking the time to answer some questions for us, Jessica. How did you come up with the idea for your new film, The Haunting of Alice D?
Jessica Sonneborn: I wanted to create a “cabin in the woods” style horror movie with a major twist that made it unique from other films like it. I was trying to think of something that could be done on a shoestring budget, but that also had some depth to it. »
