In 1965, he co-starred in an unsold sitcom pilot called "Who Goes There," where he played a ghost who adopts the guise of General George Armstrong Custer because he sees his portrait in the room where he first materializes.

Created the role of Gooper (Brother Man) in the original Broadway production of Cat on A Hot Tin Roof.
