October is going to be a pretty, pretty good month for Larry David: The ninth season of his HBO comedy series “Curb Your Enthusiasm” is set to return on Oct. 1.

HBO announced the news with a new trailer on YouTube.

The series has been off the air since 2011; HBO announced the return was officially happening last June.

“We’re thrilled that Larry has decided to do a new season of ‘Curb’ and can’t wait to see what he has planned,” said HBO programming president Casey Bloys.

Asked why he decided to come back, David said, “In the immortal words of Julius Caesar, ‘I left, I did nothing, I returned.’”

The hit comedy stars “Seinfeld” co-creator David as an over-the-top version of himself in an unsparing but tongue-in-cheek depiction of his life. With 80 episodes to date, the show is HBO’s longest-running scripted comedy or drama series.

Kathryn Hahn, Mila Kunis, and Kristen Bell in A Bad Moms Christmas

In his review of the 2016 comedy Bad Moms, Jim Batts wrote:

“With their second feature film as directors (21 & Over was the first), screenwriter Jon Lucas and Scott Moore (they did pen the The Hangover) have proven that they can deliver a film that tackles more adult concerns and situations without sacrificing the laughs. The laughs are big and the cast is most engaging (hooray for Hahn), so expect to have a good, raucous time with some Bad Moms.”

Mila Kunis, Kristen Bell and Kathryn Hahn are back for more hilarious shenanigans in the brand new trailer for A Bad Moms Christmas.

Coming Distractions: Get ready to dread the holidays with the trailer for A Bad Moms Christmas

28 June 2017 3:10 PM, PDT | avclub.com | See recent The AV Club news »

It may be the end of June, but it’s never too early to start thinking about the holidays. Actually, that’s definitely not true, but it’s never too early to start thinking about having another wacky adventure with the bad moms from the movie Bad Moms. This trailer for A Bad Moms Christmas raises the stakes by introducing the bad moms’ own bad moms, with Christine Baranski, Susan Sarandon, and Cheryl Hines joining original stars Mila Kunis, Kristen Bell, and Kathryn Hahn this time around. The first movie mostly centered around the bad moms announcing that they would no longer be putting up with anyone’s bullshit, but this one seems like it will use its Christmastime setting for a larger story about a mom’s right to be happy and whether or not books of homemade coupons are just as good as real presents. Watch Rowdy First 'A Bad Moms Christmas' Trailer and Celebrate the Holidays

28 June 2017 2:00 PM, PDT | Movies.com | See recent Movies.com news »

Last summer, the rowdy comedy Bad Moms was an unexpected box office hit. Mila Kunis, Kristen Bell and Kathryn Hahn starred as three overworked and under-appreciated mothers who jettisoned their conventional responsibilities to taste freedom and enjoy a little long-overdue fun. News of a sequel was no surprise. A few months after that announcement, we heard that Justin Hartley (TV's This Is Us) would be joining the original cast as a firefighter who moonlights as an erotic dancer. Then came a bigger bombshell, as we learned that comic veterans Susan Sarandon, Cheryl Hines and Christine Baranski would play the mothers of Hahn, Kristen Bell and Mila Kunis, respectively. The mind reeled with comic possibilities.  What hilarity can we expect from A Bad Moms Christmas this...

Mila Kunis, Kathryn Hahn and Kristen Bell return as under-appreciated and overburdened women in the first trailer for Stx’s “A Bad Moms Christmas.”

The trailer launches to the strains of Andy Williams’s song “It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year,” and then portrays the trio attempting to deal with the holiday frenzy.

“I feel like a giant stress ball,” muses Kunis as she grabs a beer with her female buddies at a shopping mall that’s dominated by holiday decorations and music. “Remember when the holidays were fun?”

Adding exponentially more anxiety to the holiday are Susan Sarandon, Christine Baranski and Cheryl Hines as the mothers of the bad moms — who all seem to have arrived without prior notice to their daughters. Baranski portrays the mother of Kunis’ Amy character; Hines is Bell’s mom and Sarandon is Hahn’s mother.

Mila Kunis, Kristen Bell and Kathryn Hahn rage against the holiday machinery in the hilariously profane trailer for A Bad Moms Christmas, a sequel to 2016's Bad Moms.
