- Ken Hill was born on January 28, 1937. He was a writer, known for The Adventures of Don Quick (1970), All the Fun of the Fair (1979) and Swizzlewick (1964). He died on January 23, 1995.
- His 1976 stage musical "The Phantom of the Opera" is credited as the first Phantom musical and was a success.
- His original stage musical of "The Phantom of the Opera" inspired Andrew Lloyd Webber to create his musical blockbuster of the same title. Webber had seen Hill's show and asked on collaborating a grand scale version of Phantom in the West End, but eventually Webber pursued the musical without Hill.
