The world was left stunned when close-knit mother and daughter Debbie Reynolds and Carrie Fisher died just one day apart in December.

The pair were laid to rest in a private ceremony in early January (Reynolds was buried at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Los Angeles alongside Fisher’s ashes, which were in an urn shaped like a Prozac pill), and now the public will have a chance to say goodbye to the iconic actresses in a public memorial service this Saturday.

Todd Fisher is revealing more details about the public memorial planned for his mother and sister.

Carrie Fisher and Debbie Reynolds will be remembered at a public tribute on March 25 at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Los Angeles, where fans will be able to attend and pay their respects to the iconic actresses. The memorial, Fisher says, is in keeping with Reynolds’ wishes.

When Debbie Reynolds saw the documentary “Bright Lights,” featuring herself and children Carrie Fisher and Todd Fisher, she was asked what she took away from the film. According to Todd, “She said, ‘I saw how much I loved my children.’ My mother was the ultimate mother. And if you asked her what was your greatest accomplishment, it wasn’t he singing and the dancing and all the entertaining she did. She would say, ‘It was my kids, my family.’ That was what was important to her.”

Todd Fisher spoke of his late mother and sister, both of whom passed away in December, following a screening of “Bright Lights” at the San Luis Obispo International Film Festival on Wednesday night.
