WWE Roadblock-End of the Line Results (Spoilers)

18 December 2016 8:49 PM, PST | LRMonline.com | See recent LRM Online news »

WWE: Roadblock-End of the Line is in the books. As a night that promised to close the chapter on some feuds on the Raw brand, for the most part the event didn’t disappoint. Here are the results of the matches and my thoughts.

Rusev vs Big Cass (Kickoff Show Match)

As I dreaded, this match was a dud thanks to Rusev. I could honestly care less about his character. While Lana is definitely a lovely woman, looks can only take you so far in the pro wrestling business. The entire setup for the match seemed stolen from 1980’s era wrestling. The only entertaining part of the match was the usual great mic work from Enzo before the match started. Thankfully it was over pretty quick. Lana distracts Enzo who gets taken out by Rusev. Big Cass checks on his friend only to get counted out. Big whoop. The »

Multiple WWE stars returning soon, Goldberg’s next WWE appearance revealed…

5 December 2016 10:35 AM, PST | Flickeringmyth | See recent Flickeringmyth news »

To warm up ahead of his fantasy warfare just got real match against Brock Lesnar at Survivor Series, Goldberg had a few physical encounters in the ring. He beat up some developmental wrestlers dressed as security guards…where he tweaked his shoulder. He speared Paul Heyman. And, for his first interaction, he gave Rusev a Jackhammer…once he recovered from falling over.

The logic is undeniable. Put one of your up and coming stars with a bona fide legend to give the younger guy a rub. And then put him in a feud with comedy act Enzo and Cass over a penis. That’s how you get stars over!

And WWE seem committed to Rusev’s push, as on Saturday night at a live event in Mexico, he was squashed by a returning Brock Lesnar in The Beast’s first appearance since his shock Survivor Series loss.

Actually, I’ve »

The Week in WWE – New Number One Contender for the Universal Title, Sasha Banks Wins Gold, TLC Go Home Show

Liam Hoofe rounds up all of the action from the week in WWE…

Raw

The Good

Jericho Vs Owens

Whilst it would be nice to one day see Raw open with a match up, this week’s Raw began with a highlight reel segment that established a number of future scenarios.

First of all Reigns came out to a chorus of boos and challenged Owens to a match later in the night to earn himself the right to be the number one contender. Whilst Reigns is a divisive character to say the least, this is the Reigns I don’t mind watching. He cut straight to the point and told Owens he was sick of him being a little girl, and that he wanted to see the old Kevin Owens back in the ring. Reigns works when he is being intense, when he doesn’t work is when he trying »

The Undertaker retiring at Wrestlemania 33? Ecw stars return to WWE

18 November 2016 12:22 PM, PST | Flickeringmyth | See recent Flickeringmyth news »

There are many great movie projects that have never seen the light of day. Tim Burton’s Superman Lives. Stanley Kubrick’s Napoleon. Tarkovsky’s The Idiot. And now, unfortunately, we can add another one…to the list!

Chris Jericho revealed in his recent interview with Live Audio Wrestling that he has pitched a buddy cop movie for WWE Studios with him and Kevin Owens. They came up with the idea after Vince McMahon really liked their chemistry together, but sadly it isn’t happening. Because WWE Studios already have brilliant projects such as Incarnate with Mark Henry, Temple with Seth Rollins, and The Marine 5: Battleground with The Miz, Maryse, Heath Slater, Curtis Axel, Bo Dallas and Naomi.

Another gimmick that might be close to jumping the shark is Chin McMahon himself, James Ellsworth.

Ellsworth has posted on his Facebook page that he is “no longer taking anymore independent wrestling bookings, »

The Week in WWE – Intercontinental Title Changes Hands, Brock Lesnar and Goldberg Come Face to Face, Final Push For Survivor Series

Liam Hoofe rounds up the week’s big news from the world of WWE

The Good

Chris Jericho

Chris Jericho turned 46 years old this month. He made his television debut for the WWE 16 years ago. So how is it that he is still so damn entertaining!? Where most people tend to fade away over the years Jericho is something of an anomaly, seemingly getting better as time goes by.

Every time he was on the screen this week he was a pure delight, whether it be his background segment with Braun and Rollins, or putting Aj Styles on the list to a massive pop the guy never fails to entertain. He also has such a willingness to put other guys over, and isn’t afraid to look the fool on TV.

It’s a shame that Jericho likely won’t be on TV for much longer, he is one of »

Backstage concern over Brock Lesnar’s condition ahead of Survivor Seres, another huge WWE name teased for Wrestlemania

16 November 2016 2:59 PM, PST | Flickeringmyth | See recent Flickeringmyth news »

One of my favourite parts of this week’s episode of Raw – which was really quite enjoyable for a change – was Goldberg and Brock Lesnar going face-to-face for the first time since Bill’s return to WWE, and just days before their fantasy warfare match at Survivor Series. The crowd were electric throughout and the two never even touched. That’s a go-home promo done very, very right.

It’s a long way from Paul Heyman trying to get the crowd to chant for Goldberg in Brock’s hometown.

One of the best parts of the promo was how freaking jacked Goldberg looked when he ripped off his shirt. For a man who turns 50 this December, he looks pretty incredible.

This is because Goldberg has been training intently ahead of his big in-ring comeback for WWE, working with both Mma and Muay-Thai instructors. According to WrestlingNewsWorld, Goldberg was put over »

WWE: Goldberg and Lesner Get Physical, And The Rock Returning Tonight?!

15 November 2016 7:49 AM, PST | LRMonline.com | See recent LRM Online news »

WWE is certainly trying to pull out all of the stops, aren't they? With their ratings in decline, one of the Big Four PPVs on the horizon, and needing to spark renewed interest in their products they've gone back to their tried-and-true formula of dusting off retired and semi-retired Superstars.

Goldberg recently came back and last night, in the latest escalation of his feud with Brock Lesner, finally got physical. The 49 year-old former mountain of a man ripped off his shirt on WWE Raw last night, revealing how diminished his physique has become since leaving the squared circle, and got into a physical altercation with a bunch of security guards after Paul Heyman said that his son was going to start calling Lesner "daddy."

You can view the entire altercation from last night's WWE Raw right here:

Billy Corgan threatens to sell Tna shares to WWE, rumoured backstage fight between Chris Jericho & Sin Cara

7 November 2016 10:51 AM, PST | Flickeringmyth | See recent Flickeringmyth news »

Tna has somehow managed to make its situation worse.

Yeah, the company that’s in millions of dollars of debt and just had its own president sue them. They’ve managed to make that worse.

It’s almost a talent. Like Wild E. Coyote’s talent of constantly falling off cliffs and somehow being back on television the next week.

Dave Lagana, the promotion’s Senior Director of Creative Writing – which is a fancy way of saying ‘head booker’ – has now announced his resignation from the company. I’m going to translate some of the key parts of his statement to show what he really means:

“Today I made the decision to leave Tna Impact Wrestling. A decision I do not make lightly but one I made to create a future that I control.”

Translation: Tna’s future is on the brink of collapse. Run away!

The Week in WWE – Survivor Series takes shape, TLC main event confirmed, has Orton joined the Wyatt Family?

4 November 2016 9:24 AM, PDT | Flickeringmyth | See recent Flickeringmyth news »

Liam Hoofe rounds up the week’s big news from the world of WWE…

Raw

The Good – Survivor Series Build

With Survivor Series only a few weeks away WWE have finally pulled their fingers out and started to put together some sort cohesion heading into the event. The New Day cut a great promo that saw them riffing on the Smackdown tag team division and the show closed by teasing a potential Shield reunion between Reigns and Rollins, which saw the show close to a hot crowd for once.

Brock’s Next

Following last week’s debacle Paul Heyman and Goldberg come out to make sure the crowd were cheering the right person this time in a segment that could have easily fallen into the bad section of this review. Heyman verbally assaulted Goldberg in his typical manner before Rusev interrupted the segment for no apparent reason. Goldberg then proceeded »

Vince McMahon furious with Brock Lesnar WWE Raw promo, what happened backstage…

26 October 2016 8:30 AM, PDT | Flickeringmyth | See recent Flickeringmyth news »

For those of you who haven’t seen it – you’re the lucky ones, by the way – here’s a quick summary of Brock Lesnar and Paul Heyman’s promo on this week’s episode of Monday Night Raw: Lesnar and Heyman came out to reply to Goldberg’s impassioned challenge from the previous week. Heyman tried to get the crowd to chant ‘Goldberg’s’ name against Lesnar, but hardly anyone did.

This is because Raw took place in Minnesota. Minnesota is where Brock is from and went to University, for which he won loads of national amateur wrestling contests. He’s a hometown boy and they love him. So instead of chanting ‘Goldberg’, everyone chanted ‘Suplex City’ and ‘Goldberg sucks’ in favour of Brock.

Then, more out of nowhere than a heel Randy Orton Rko, Lesnar’s music started playing and Brock and Heyman awkwardly left the ring. »

Video Game Review – WWE 2K17

23 October 2016 4:54 AM, PDT | Flickeringmyth | See recent Flickeringmyth news »

Steve Kyriacou reviews WWE 2K17…

I remember a rainy morning in December of 1991. I was 11 years old and one of my friends at school was showing us a new sticker album he had. It was a strange collection filled with oversized men in colourful, flamboyant and wacky costumes. Some were racially stereotypical. Some looked absolutely terrifying. But that was my introduction into the world of professional wrestling.

Almost exactly 25 years later and the industry has taken over the world! World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) has its fingers in many pies such as toys, clothing and movies and of course video games which leads me to this… WWE 2K17.

This year’s wrestling extravaganza is not much different from WWE 2K16. The controls are almost identical but there are some minor tweaks which have been added to the gameplay such as a new “roll out” system which is designed to make multi »

Shaun Eddleston reviews the October 17th edition of Monday Night Raw

We are just over two weeks from Hell in a Cell, a gimmick-heavy pay-per-view devoted to a match type once saved for the most intense of blood feuds.

Monday Night Raw hit the airwaves promising the latest chapter in the ongoing rivalries between Roman Reigns and Rusev, Sasha Banks and Charlotte and the celebrated return of Goldberg to an industry he once took by storm. With so many moving parts and pressure on the writing staff to produce a show that can drum up excitement for the October 30th PPV, this week’s episode was an integral one for a brand often unfavourably compared to its Tuesday night counterpart, Smackdown.

WWE: So Bill Goldberg Is Back. Now What?

18 October 2016 8:28 AM, PDT | LRMonline.com | See recent LRM Online news »

Last night, on WWE Monday Night Raw- the longest running weekly episodic program in history- WCW Legend Bill Goldberg made his hotly-anticipated return. As part of the next escalation of his feud with Brock Lesner, which seems to be ripped straight from the plot of Rocky Balboa, he came out and answered Paul Heyman's challenge from last week.

And he looked great doing it.

Goldberg delivered a promo that was easily- far and away- the best he's ever sounded on a microphone. He was loose; He was natural; and he seemed to be speaking from the heart. The crowd, much to my surprise, absolutely loved him, and his entrance last night will probably go down as one of the most memorable moments WWE has had in quite a while.

I've got to hand it him. That closing line, which I'll paraphrase here: "You're not just next. You're last! »

Goldberg Returns to WWE, Accepts Brock Lesnar’s Challenge: ‘You’re Next … You’re Last!’ (Video)

Pro wrestling legend Goldberg made his triumphant return to the WWE this evening, appearing on the promotion’s flagship series “Monday Night Raw” following a 12-year hiatus. The 49-year-old entered the ring to respond to a challenge laid down last week by Brock Lesnar’s “advocate” Paul Heyman. After a little hemming and hawing, Goldberg’s answer was as emphatic as the Denver, Colorado, crowd’s chants of both his name and “Holy S–t! Holy S–t!” (Yes, “This Is Awesome!” also made the cut.) “I thought to myself, maybe I have one last ass-kicking in me … maybe I »

WWE say Paige “tested positive for an illegal substance”

12 October 2016 12:52 AM, PDT | Flickeringmyth | See recent Flickeringmyth news »

It was revealed on Monday that WWE superstar Paige had been suspended again for her second Wellness Policy violation, which caused the wrestler to tweet “same shit, different day” and claim she was wrongfully suspended. Her claim is that she has a doctor’s prescription for her bad neck, just not one from the WWE doctors. Her family, who are also in the wrestling industry, took to Twitter and Facebook to defend her and bad-mouth WWE for their actions.

Same shit different day. Kids..Please don't get prescriptions or doctors notes. Not acceptable.

Rules apply depending on your status.

Paige (@RealPaigeWWE) October 10, 2016

Well, WWE have issued their own statement now – and they’re saying Paige was suspended for an illegal substance, not pain killers.

“[Paige] tested positive for an illegal substance, not a prescription drug,” they told the New York Post. “In addition, WWE is providing world-class medical care for her in-ring injury. »

WWE Raw 10/10/16 Review – Paul Heyman issues challenge to Goldberg, Seth Rollins vs. Chris Jericho and more

Shaun Eddleston reviews the October 10th edition of Monday Night Raw

Last week’s episode of Raw saw Sasha Banks defeat Charlotte to win the title for a second time. It saw a back and forth contest with Banks getting the win, plus, Dana Brooke wasn’t at ringside. What could be the fallout of this match on Raw? Could Charlotte and Brooke’s tensions increase?

Kevin Owens vs. Seth Rollins for the WWE Universal Championship got confirmed for the Hell in a Cell PPV as well. These two have feuded since the beginning of September, and even wrestled at Clash of Champions. This saw Ko win his first title defense, but with controversy. The Architect will get his second opportunity, though, so what will he do to build momentum?

The first match announced for Hiac had been Roman Reigns vs. Rusev for the United States Championship. It’s also »

WWE Legend Goldberg Confirms He’s Returning to ‘Raw’ (Video)

Pro wrestling legend Bill Goldberg has assured the WWE Universe that he will be returning to the ring — at least to respond to Paul Heyman’s recent challenge. Heyman, who is the so-called Beast Incarnate Brock Lesnar’s “advocate,” called out the icon Goldberg last night on the pro wrestling promotion’s flagship USA Network show, “Monday Night Raw.” This morning, Goldberg gladly took him up on the offer. Goldberg returns to WWE next week

After more than 12 years away, Goldberg will make his long-awaited return to WWE programming on the October 17th episode of Monday Night Raw.

Goldberg confirmed the news via his Twitter account:

Booking my flight to answer that big mouth @HeymanHustle 's challenge next week in person on #MondayNightRaw #WhosNext? #seeyathere @WWE

Bill Goldberg (@Goldberg) October 11, 2016

His tweet came on the heels of a segment during last night’s episode of Raw in which Brock Lesnar‘s advocate, Paul Heyman, issued a challenge to Goldberg.

Goldberg’s final match in WWE was against Lesnar at WrestleMania Xx in 2004 – and it was an absolute disaster. Fans knew going into the match that Goldberg was about to leave WWE, and that Lesnar intended to launch an NFL career, so both men were showered with boos throughout the match. Goldberg won, and after leaving the ring fans sang “Na Na Hey Hey Goodbye,” which »

Raw Champion has backstage heat! Paul Heyman wants to book WWE?

28 September 2016 12:17 PM, PDT | Flickeringmyth | See recent Flickeringmyth news »

The Cruiserweight Champion Tj Perkins made his debut on Raw this week against Tony Nese. Even though the crowd preferred to chant for Randy Savage and Cm Punk instead of enjoying the match, the 32 year old still unlocked a career achievement.

But he’s allegedly already rubbed some people the wrong way backstage. You’ve gotta go counter-clockwise with the baby oil.

One of the more appealing parts of Tj’s character – besides the awesome retro video game entrance – is the hardship he’s had to go through to get to WWE. His video packages on the Cruiserweight Classic always highlighted how he’d been homeless in the past, and that he had overcome this to make it as a professional wrestler. Think the emotional videos they always play in X Factor.

In the build-up to Tj’s Clash of Champions Cruiserweight title defence, his opponent The Brian Kendrick brought »
