Person Of Interest Producers Talk Mr. Reese Cliffhanger

29 December 2012 4:19 PM, PST | Access Hollywood | See recent Access Hollywood news »

"Person of Interest" ended 2012 on a major cliffhanger earlier this month when the FBI finally caught the man in the suit.

Actually, Agent Donnelly (Brennan Brown) and his team (including Taraji P. Henson's character Detective Carter) captured four of them, which will create some trouble for the authorities when the CBS drama returns with an all-new episode on January 3.

"There's an interesting dilemma here for Agent Donnelly and the FBI... Four suspects have been rounded up. All four of them are men in suits. And there's a little bit of intrigue to be played with that," ...

Exec Producers Jonathan Nolan and Greg Plageman Talk Person Of Interest, Finch’s Backstory, and the Machine’s Growing Artificial Intelligence

28 December 2012 9:10 AM, PST | Collider.com | See recent Collider.com news »

On the hit CBS drama series Person of Interest, former-cia agent John Reese (Jim Caviezel) and mysterious billionaire Harold Finch (Michael Emerson) prevent violent crimes by using their own brand of vigilante justice and the help of NYPD homicide detectives Carter (Taraji P. Henson) and Fusco (Kevin Chapman).  Using state-of-the-art surveillance technology, they work outside of the law to unravel the mystery of the person of interest and stop the crime before it happens, whether they turn out to be the victim or the perpetrator. During this recent interview to discuss what’s to come for the remainder of Season 2, which returns with new episodes on January 3rd, executive producers Jonathan Nolan (who created the show) and Greg Plageman talked about how Reese’s current predicament will affect things now, how Reese and Finch’s partnership is changing them, how much Carter will wrestle with helping Reese versus helping the FBI, »

Legolas Greenleaf: Now Making House Calls.

24 December 2012 11:23 AM, PST | JustPressPlay.net | See recent JustPressPlay news »

To be a good doctor you must act like one. Or so Dr. Martin Blake (Orlando Bloom) is told when seeking advice on how to get into the Infectious Diseases Fellowship at his new hospital. He's feeling insecure as nurses like Theresa (Taraji P. Henson) constantly belittle him and orderlies like Jimmy (Michael Pena) give him little respect. His only source of comfort becomes a young female patient, Diane (Riley Keough), who is gracious to Martin for helping her recover.

But Martin's obsession with gaining respect leads him down a dark path. He begins manipulating Diane's medicine to keep her sick and thus close to him, while also interfering in her life. It's a slippery slope from there, as he grows more paranoid and devious.

'Django Unchained,' 'Steel Magnolias' lead NAACP Image Award nominees

11 December 2012 3:38 PM, PST | Pop2it | See recent Pop2it news »

Lifetime's "Steel Magnolias" remake dominates the list of this year's NAACP Image Award nominees with seven nods, while "Django Unchained" and "Beasts of the Southern Wild" picked up four each in film categories, and "Grey's Anatomy" and "Treme" nabbed four in TV.

Designed to honor "the accomplishments of people of color in the fields of television, music, literature and film," the annual Image nominations reliably offer up some real headscratchers: Tyler Perry is a best actor contender for "Alex Cross"? Amber Riley is a lead actress on "Glee"? The critically acclaimed "Middle of Nowhere" isn't worth a mention as outstanding independent film?

But there's also welcome, and rare, recognition for HBO's "Treme," plus well-deserved nods across the board for "Django" and "Beasts."

A partial list of this year's nominees in the film and TV categories follows. For a complete list, including music and literary categories, visit the Image Awards official site. »

TV on Tap: A Potential "Downton Abbey" Departure, Brenda Song is "New Girl"'s New Girl and the Beekman Boys Bake Cookies for the "Amazing Race" Competitors

11 December 2012 4:06 AM, PST | The Backlot | See recent The Backlot news »

I guess ABC doesn't worry about Apartment 23 mocking Dancing with the Stars with these ratings.

News

Over at the website for their farm, Josh Kilmer-Purcell and Brent Ridge write a thank-you post to The Amazing Race team along with pictures of gingerbread cookies inspired by their Amazing Race competitors. There's something encouraging about the sight of Brent's imperfect icing.

Speaking of The Amazing Race, Jaymes has set up a website to take donations for his father's battle against cancer.

Deadline adds to the story about that remake of The Saint that's in the works. Eliza Dushku has joined the pilot as a love interest for the lead character.

Brenda Song is heading to a recurring role on New Girl according to EW. I'm more than a little mixed about the news, I like Song, I like that she'll be playing a love interest for Winston — but I hoped »

TV on Tap: "Castle" Plans Another "Firefly" Reunion, Bravo's Making "Death Becomes Her" a TV Series and Will "How I Met Your Mother" End This Season?

10 December 2012 5:04 AM, PST | The Backlot | See recent The Backlot news »

Oh yes. Teddy's finally back in the 90210.

News

Castle has booked another Firefly reunion. TVLine reports that Gina Torres will appear as a mogul-slash-reality-tv-star. In hindsight, I'm disappointed no one asked Torres to play a mogul-slash-reality-tv-star earlier.

Time is running out for How I Met Your Mother. Series creators Craig Thomas and Carter Bays have asked that CBS decide by the end of 2012 if the comedy will end this season or next. CBS is in the process of negotiating for another season and it's probably not ready to lose a hit show after a disappointing fall. Still, that might not be enough to convince the cast to put off bigger and better projects.

Why would you make a line of Downton Abbey t-shirts and use only one quip from the Dowager Countess? As Jezebel says, "Hideous."

Wendy Williams goes nude for Peta, says 'jiggle is sexy'

28 November 2012 5:22 PM, PST | Pop2it | See recent Pop2it news »

Wendy Williams is the latest celebrity to strip down for a Peta billboard. The talk show host posed nude as part of the organization's "I'd Rather Go Naked Than Wear Fur" campaign.

"I don't really think that fur is the mark of success anymore," says Williams. "As a decent person, with compassion, it just seems like the right thing to support."

Williams says she was eager to drop trou for the campaign. "As a talk show host, where everything has got to be so covered up during my show, I welcome the reasoning to go naked," she says.

Wendy isn't worried about having a little "jiggle" as she exposes herself, because she says that's what separates the women from the men. And besides, says Wendy, "jiggle is sexy." Her billboard is set to debut in Times Square.

Celebrities who have previously bared all for the Peta campaign include Khloe Kardashian and Taraji P. Henson. »

Person of Interest Recap 'A triggerman merits the return of Elias'

Harold Finch (Michael Emerson) and John Reese (Jim Caviezel) after they save another life thanks to the Machine.

This week, Person of Interest presented an interesting scenario. What happens when the man who the Machine declares the next number is a victim not a perpetrator, but he's also a dangerous mob enforcer traveling with a complete innocent? It put John and Harold at odds with one another as John argued that Riley Cavanaugh (Jonathan Tucker) may be a killer but so was he at one point. While Finch gets offended by the notion of letting Riley's lover, Annie, be put into harm's way at all even going so far as to quote his recent captor by stating that some people are just 'bad code'.

Frankly, the story itself wasn't the strongest this week as the young lovers tried to get out of town before Riley's former boss, George Massey, could get them both killed. »
