With his magic shows, he rejected the traditional tuxedo and top hat costume and prefered bright multi coloured casual clothing and tights. Also sported long hair and a long bushy moustache.

Trivia (9)

Ran for the House of Commons in Canada as a candidate for the fringe Natural Law Party.
Was nominated for Broadway's 1975 Tony Award as Best Supporting or Featured Actor (Musical) for "The Magic Show."
A student of Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, who praised Transcendental Meditation and worked to help Maharishi open a proposed theme park called "Vedaland", in the US or Canada. Henning's widow continued the work after his death.
He is credited with reviving the magic show as a form of mass entertainment in the 1970s and popularizing it on television.
Married to Barbara De Angelis before she became famous as a relationship author. After she divorced him, DeAngelis was briefly married to John Gray, who later became famous for writing the "Men are from Mars, Women are from Venus" book series.
To prepare for his career, Henning studied psychology in college, to learn more about the human mind and perception.
Encouraged students of magic to make their own props and equipment, and not rely on ready-made magic kits. "Those magic tricks you buy in stores are junk. They don't teach you anything.".
