Full The Dark Knight Rises Trailer Hits: Merry Christmas

19 December 2011 10:47 AM, PST | Clothes on Film | See recent Clothes on Film news »

Christmas comes early for anyone looking forward to The Dark Knight Rises (that’s all of us then); as Warner Bros. has released a full trailer telling us absolutely everything we need to know before the film hits cinemas next July, i.e. nothing.

This is not quite true; the trailer is a good one. It tantalises without giving anything much away regarding plot that we do not already know. Gotham is on the eve of a revolution, hinted at by sultry Selina Kyle (Anne Hathaway), aka Catwoman, and seemingly instigated by the near silent menace of Bane (Tom Hardy). It is an uprising against the privileged and decadent, something that has always been a popular theme in the Batman mythology.

Christian Bale's Batman "faces the pain" in The Dark Knight Rises, plus more clues from Christopher Nolan, Tom Hardy, Gary Oldman

23 November 2011 2:02 AM, PST | The Geek Files | See recent The Geek Files news »

With every morsel of information about Christopher Nolan's The Dark Knight Rises amping up the anticipation, it's hard to imagine how the fanboys will last the eight months that still remain until its release next July.

Shedding a little more light on what to expect, Christian Bale tells Uol Cinema how the end of Nolan's trilogy feels: "It's like saying goodbye to an old friend. When you have the opportunity to play a character so many times, you develop another relationship with him, more profound."

His portrayal of Batman has always been based on a concept that he developed with Nolan, as the actor explains: "How long will you let pain and loss define your life? Walking around chasing bad guys is very heroic and attracts attention, but it all begins as a means of dealing with the pain of a huge loss."

The floodgates have finally jarred open with Batman riding a shark. Christopher Nolan and camp would be fantastic members of elite military organizations or perhaps political houses. The Dark Knight Rises Will Be Set "Eight Years" After The Dark Knight

21 November 2011 2:22 PM, PST | Reelzchannel.com | See recent ReelzChannel news »

Production recently wrapped on director Christopher Nolan's third and final Batman movie, The Dark Knight Rises , which is great news for fans anxious to see a new trailer or other footage from the shoot, but not so great news for those photographers that supplied the online community with a variety of "spy" pics and videos. Ultimately, the biggest take-away was that Batman (Christian Bale) and Bane (Tom Hardy) engage in a daytime fistfight, which was pretty much expected ever since Bane was revealed as the movie's villain. What else Nolan has in store is still a (mostly) well-kept secret, but the typically-guarded director has finally offered some new details.

In the most recent issue of Empire, which has both Bale and Hardy on alternating covers, Nolan opened up a bit about the plot of The Dark Knight Rises and revealed that the sequel will take place "eight years" after the previous installment. »

New Details About The Dark Knight Rises Revealed

Empire Magazine just released their latest issue, which (as we showed you this past weekend) features Bane and Batman on the front covers. Inside the issue are new exclusive photos, as well as a wealth of new information about The Dark Knight Rises gleaned from interviews with Christopher Nolan, Christian Bale, and Tom Hardy. Points of discussion include where, or rather, when the story picks up, Bane and his mask, and the details surrounding the 6-minute prologue that is coming December 16th in front of select IMAX showings of Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol. Considering these details are being discussed by and with the approval of Christopher Nolan, I’d say their spoiler level is fairly light. But if you happen to be a person who wants to go in as fresh as possible, or you’re someone who wants to avoid set pictures of any kind, perhaps the rest of »

Now, several scans of the photos inside have gone online (via Shh) while a few potential spoiler facts given by director Chris Nolan himself in the article have emerged via Empire's website.

The biggest surprise from the piece is the time setting of 'Rises'. While a few months passed between "Batman Begins" and "The Dark Knight", the gap between that second and this third film will be longer… a lot longer.

"Perhaps surprisingly for some people, our story picks up quite a bit later, eight years after The Dark Knight. So he's an older Bruce Wayne; he's not in a great state" says Nolan who adds that this film is "really all about finishing Batman and Bruce Wayne's story".

Four New Photos From ‘The Dark Knight Rises’; Taking Place Eight Years After Tdk & More Details

When The Dark Knight Rises arrives in theaters next summer it will be four years since its predecessor hit, but with new information revealed today from Empire, the time-span between the two will be about double. Since our silent guardian and watchful protector rode off into the distance, Nolan states this third and final film in his trilogy is “really all about finishing Batman and Bruce Wayne’s story. We left him in a very precarious place. Perhaps surprisingly for some people, our story picks up quite a bit later, eight years after The Dark Knight. So he’s an older Bruce Wayne; he’s not in a great state.”

And as for the person shaking his state, it will be none other than Tom Hardy as the villain Bane. We got a new glimpse of him yesterday with their cover reveals, but the site provides new quotes from the set. »
