The Big Bang Theory stars still make the biggest bank.
Forbes released its list of the highest-paid TV actors, with the CBS comedy owning four out of the top five spots, leading with Jim Parsons ($27.5 million), Johnny Galecki ($26.5 million), Simon Helberg ($26 million) and Kenal Nayyar ($25 million).
Modern Family is the other show to land multiple actors in the top 10, with Ty Burrell ($13.5 million), Eric Stonestreet ($12.5 million), Ed O'Neill ($12 million) and Jesse Tyler Ferguson ($11 million).
The only two male actors not from those two shows? NCIS' Mark Harmon was the fifth-highest earner with $19 million and Kevin Spacey -- the only non-network actor in the top 10 -- brought home $12 million for House of Cards.
Forbes notes that what pushes Parsons over the top of his Big Bang counterparts is not the salary itself, but, among other things, an endorsement »
Spoiler Alert: Do not read if you have not watched “The Proposal Proposal,” the Sept. 25 11th season premiere of “The Big Bang Theory.”
It was a no-brainer that the 11th season premiere of “The Big Bang Theory” had to open seconds after Sheldon (Jim Parsons) got down on one knee to propose to Amy (Mayim Bialik). But what wasn’t initially as clear, says executive producer Steve Holland, was whether she would immediately say yes.
“As we were breaking that episode, we talked about if there was a possibility where he tells her about the kiss and that makes her hold off on saying yes,” Holland tells Variety.
But what ultimately swayed him and his writing staff, though, was the fact that Amy is “so in love with Sheldon” and “this is the thing that she has wanted for so long,” he says. So Holland felt like delaying the inevitable “yes” would feel forced for the character »

[This story contains spoilers from The Big Bang Theory's season 11 premiere, "The Proposal Proposal."]
CBS' nerdy comedy opened its 11th season Monday with Amy's (Mayim Bialik) almost immediate response to Sheldon's (Jim Parsons) marriage proposal, a resounding "yes" — setting the stage for the fan-favorite couple to officially tie the knot.
And while the gang celebrated their friends' engagement, there was another reason to rejoice: Bernadette (Melissa Rauch) stunned husband Howard (Simon Helberg) with the news that she's expecting their second child. The »

But behind the scenes, the show went through some changes as well: Steve Holland, who first joined the writers room in 2009, stepped up to take the reins as showrunner after Steve Molaro shifted to the network’s new spin-off, “Young Sheldon.”
“In taking over as showrunner, my least concern is putting my stamp on the show,” Holland tells Variety. “These characters, over 10 seasons, have honestly grown and changed and taken on a life of their own, and my job here is to honor and protect these characters.”
When Holland first talked with series co-creator Chuck Lorre about season 11, one of the things he admits to being concerned about was what stories there could be left to tell. But with Howard (Simon Helberg) and Bernadette (Melissa Rauch) being new parents, as »

It pays to be on TV—especially if you're part of an ensemble cast. Variety revealed Tuesday how much TV's biggest actors and actresses earned per episode in 2017. Worth noting: In some instances, an actor or actress' episodic fee reflects additional compensation for his or her work as TV producers, or for his or her profit participation stakes. So, who's raking it in on the small screen? The Big Bang Theory's Kaley Cuoco, Johnny Galecki, Simon Helberg, Kunal Nayyar and Jim Parsons negotiated a $900,000 per episode fee. The original five stars of The Big Bang Theory took slight pay cuts to so their co-stars Mayim Bialik and Melissa Rauch could get raises; the actresses now command »
The explosion of demand for high-end TV series and the emergence of deep-pocketed new buyers such as Netflix and Amazon has been an enormous windfall for marquee talent. Just ask Robert De Niro, or David Letterman, or Katy Perry.
Stars with brand names are more in demand than ever as dozens of competing outlets search for anything that will help a show stand out from the pack. The new business models that govern streaming services have also had the effect of raising upfront payments to top talent because traditional forms of generating a profit from a hit series — through international sales and off-network syndication — are no longer an option.
Among the winners in the past year on the drama side were Robert De Niro, who is in line to receive an eye-popping $775,00 per episode for the untitled Amazon drama series from director David O. Russell. Other big gainers include “Shameless” stars Emmy Rossum and William H. Macy and »

Steve Holland, a longtime executive producer and writer on “Big Bang Theory,” has taken the reins as showrunner for Season 11, Variety has confirmed.
Holland will run the writers’ room and will work closely with executive producers Chuck Lorre and Molaro, who will both continue to oversee the hit comedy. Molaro, meanwhile, will segue to “Young Sheldon” where he will run the writers’ room. The spinoff, starring pint-sized actor Iain Armitage, is poised to become one of the breakout broadcast shows of the 2017-2018 television season.
Holland first joined the “Big Bang Theory” staff in 2009 for Season 3, and became an executive producer last year during the 2016-2017 season. The majority of his career has been spent on “Big Bang,” but his other credits include “Rules of Engagement” and various »

The season 10 finale of “The Big Bang Theory” provided an emotional moment for the cast and crew.
In a panel Friday at Comic-Con in San Diego, star Kaley Cuoco described the mood on set of the multi-camera comedy when it came time to shoot the episode’s final scene — in which Jim Parsons’ Sheldon Cooper proposed to Mayim Bialik’s Amy. Cuoco said that the entire cast and crew had gathered behind camera to witness the scene.
“I started crying,” Cuoco said.
“We were all crying,” added co-star Kunal Nayyar.
“I came as close to crying as is possible for me,” added fellow co-star Johnny Galecki.
The proposal was the culmination of a long arc for Sheldon and Amy — one that had been slowly building since Bialik joined the cast in 2010.
“To see that be the pinnacle of this season was really cool,” Cuoco said. “We’ve all come such a long way.”

Drake‘s not the only one cashing in on some throwback royalties.
Big Bang Theory star Mayim Bialik took to Instagram on Tuesday to reveal that 27 years later, she’s still making money from a 1990 appearance on one episode of Doogie Howser, M.D., the hit ABC series starring Neil Patrick Harris that ran from 1989-93.
“That’s right. Gross was $0.02. Net to me: $0.01,” Bialik, 41, captioned a photo of the royalty check, adding a series of hilarious hashtags.
Of course, Bialik’s paychecks look a little different these days. »

You’ve seen him a number of programs and films but the most enduring right now would have to be The Big Bang Theory. It seems that anyone that joins that cast is labeled as their character and everything they’ve done since seems to get kind of forgotten. That’s not a terrible thing really unless you figure that the show is the first time they’ve been on screen in their lives. For Simon Helberg it’s definitely a giant stepping stone or a feather in his cap, however you want to put it, but it’s not his first trip through Hollywood. Here
