Mutant Chronicles Director Set to Helm Full Moon Fever Comic Adaption

14 December 2010 | Horror Asylum | See recent Horror Asylum news »

Graphic novel 'Full Moon Fever' as you may already know is in development to become a feature. Solipsist Films is producing the comic adaption, taken from Caleb Gerard and Joe Casey's werewolf/space tale. Mania are reporting that British director Simon Hunter ('Mutant Chronicles') has been bought on board to helm the project and Joe Casey has already prepared a script for him, which was nice. Unfortunately it may be quite a slow development period on this project at the moment as Hunter is already working hard on the development stages of 'Safe House', starring Lena Headey (below) and Michael Ironside which is expected to begin shooting next year. »

8 December 2010 1:34 PM, PST | | See recent Screen Rant news »

HBO’s adaptation of George R. R. Martin’s Game of Thrones isn’t due to premiere for another five months, but if the latest feature is any indication, it’ll be worth the wait.

Just before the Boardwalk Empire season finale aired Sunday night, “Inside Game of Thrones” gave potential fans a look into the production and backstory of the upcoming series.

The 11-minute featurette gives us the best look yet at the direction and feel of the long-planned adaptation. The video features pretty much all of the scenes from the previous Game of Thrones tralier plus some more juicy dialogue between Eddard Stark (Sean Bean, The Lord of the Rings) and members of Westeros’ power circles. Lena Headey (Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles) makes additional appearances. In addition to a preview of the series, there are plenty…

'Game of Thrones': Finally, a full-fledged preview of HBO's new series

HBO had been pretty stingy with sneak peeks of its new series "Game of Thrones" -- but that ended on Sunday.

Prior to the season finale of "Boardwalk Empire" Sunday night (Dec. 5), HBO aired a 10-minute making-of/preview special for "Game of Thrones." It was the usual mix of teaser footage, behind-the-scenes info and talking heads with the cast and crew -- but it was also the first extended look fans have gotten at the show.

The video -- which features interview segments with author George R.R. Martin, whose novels form the basis of the series, as well as creators David Benioff and D.B. Weiss -- is at the end of the post. But we also wanted to share a few new photos HBO has posted of the cast. Up above is Sean Bean ("The Lord of the Rings") as Eddard "Ned" Stark, and below is Lena Headey ("Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles »

Send questions to and follow me on Twitter!

Question: I was wondering if you've seen the new Game of Thrones trailer that aired before Boardwalk Empire. It looks like HBO is putting a lot of promotion into the series, but I'm wondering if TV audiences will give a fantasy show, even on HBO, a chance. The series isn't fantasy in the Lord of the Rings style of high magic, magical races and so on, so I'm hopeful that many people who are turned off by classic fantasy tropes may give it a try. It seems like many people dismiss fantasy as a genre out of hand, which puzzles me, because isn't True Blood a fantasy series? Vampires, werewolves and fairies aren't exactly reality. Game of Thrones is a character-driven series with captivating characters, compelling story arcs with many twists and turns, and some fantastic acting talent including Sean Bean, »

New Game Of Thrones Trailer & Stills

30 November 2010 3:27 AM, PST | EmpireOnline | See recent EmpireOnline news »

It's no big secret that we're very very excited about A Game Of Thrones, the upcoming fantasy series based on George Rr Martin's twisted novels. Sure, it's TV rather than strictly film, but this has huge potential so you're just going to have to bear with us.The story centres on two houses, both alike in dignity: the Starks - led by Sean Bean's Eddard - and the royal Bartheons - led by Mark Addy's Robert. Complicating matters are Queen Cersei Lannister (Lena Headey) and her family, particularly brothers Tyrion (Peter Dinklage) and Jaime (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau). Then there's exiled, deposed heir to the throne Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke), who's about to be married off to barbarian leader Khal Drogo (Jason Momoa). And winter is coming, and that's seriously bad news. The TV trailer gives you a taste of the cast in action, while the accompanying stills are probably »

HBO has released the third teaser commercial for its upcoming Game of Thrones series. Set to debut on the channel in the first half of 2011, the show is based on the popular series of fantasy novels by George R.R. Martin.

The series stars Sean Bean (The Lord of the Rings) as Eddard Stark, Mark Addy (The Full Monty) as Robert Baratheon, Lena Headey (Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles) as Cersei Lannister, Peter Dinklage (Threshold) as Tyrion Lannister, Michelle Fairley (Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1) as Catelyn Stark, Kit Harrington as Jon Snow, Emilia Clarke as Daenerys Targaryen, as well as many others. Set in a world like Earth and in an age like feudal times, but where summers and winters can last for decades, Martin's books are filled with political intrigue and scheming allies and enemies fighting over who will rule the kingdom. 'Game of Thrones' Trailer has lots of snow! And Politics! British people!

29 November 2010 6:05 PM, PST | Planet Fury | See recent Planet Fury news »

George R.R. Martin's fantasy literature series is now an HBO TV series starring Lena Headey. They've released the trailer! (I wanted to say, 'released the kraken!', but, well. One can't have everything).

Sean Bean is also in this as The Same Character He Played in Lord of the Rings.

I read the first novel in the actual series, A Game of Thrones, and, boy. It's hard to remember anything about it. Lots of politics. A blond girl who does it doggy-style with a desert barbarian lord. Snow. No magic, unfortunately. It's like something that happens in medieval France, or something, with different topography and more interesting surnames. That's my recollection of the novel.

This trailer tells me I nailed it. Sans 'blond chick screwing barbarian doggy style', everything I remember about the series is there. And everyone has that fake British-y accent that everyone has in anything about »

TV Trailer and Photo Gallery: ‘Game of Thrones’

29 November 2010 11:59 AM, PST | Slash Film | See recent Slash Film news »

The two [1] teasers [2] we've seen so far for the HBO series adaptation of George R.R. Martin's Game of Thrones showed very little. What we did see had the color bled out to fit the dour tone of each teaser, and while the brief images were tantalizing, there was no way to get a real sense of how the series might play. So this new trailer is the first finished footage we've seen to complement the colorful behind the scenes clips doled out sporadically over the past months. Check it out after the break. I haven't read the books upon which this series is based, but I do know that they're sprawling epics. This trailer doesn't quite get that across, and watching it I feel like the footage is curiously and worryingly a bit flat. I'm hoping that's just me, coming into the series with no real prior knowledge of the story. »

New Trailer for HBO’s Epic New Series Game Of Thrones

29 November 2010 11:09 AM, PST | | See recent news »

We’ve already seen a short trailer for the forthcoming epic series Game of Thrones on HBO, but it was little more than a tease. A couple other trailers have since surfaced on HBO, but with roughly the same amount of footage and little-to-no-dialogue. Now HBO has released an all-new trailer which finally gives us a better idea of the story and style behind the adaptation of George R.R. Martin’s fantasy novel series A Song of Fire and Ice. The trailer brings epic action, medieval drama and even some sexuality, a staple of any HBO series. You can check out the trailer after the jump and look forward to the series which will begin airing sometime in early 2011.

'Game Of Thrones' Trailers Have Us Excited For Winter

Winter is coming, and we have never been more excited to freeze our butts off. If you were watching HBO's "Boardwalk Empire" last night, you were already treated to these two awesome sneak peeks at "Game of Thrones" but if you missed them then grab some tissues because you're about to drool all over yourself. Can you handle the Dinklage?

The first clip is a teaser of the series, which introduces us to all the major players in this game of thrones. There's Eddard Stark (Sean Bean), who is honorable to a fault. He explains to his son Bran why he had to behead a man that deserted his post at their Northern Wall. "The man who passes the sentence should swing the sword," he said, hoping some of his own good intentions would pass on to his children. But Queen Cersei (Lena Headey) also points out one of Ned's »

Third Teaser for HBO’s Game of Thrones

29 November 2010 7:31 AM, PST | Beyond Hollywood | See recent Beyond Hollywood news »

A decidedly more violent (or at least, execution-ry) teaser for HBO’s upcoming “Game of Thrones” TV series, starring Sean Bean as a sword-swinging badass stuck in a kingdom full of bad people and questionable gals, one of whom is Lena Headey, who can be do questionable things to me any day. The third teaser is also sexier, with some bare flesh thrown on the screen to remind you that this is HBO and, well, you’ll probably see a lot more than that when the show premieres in 2011 on HBO. Seven noble families fight for control of the mythical land of Westeros. Political and sexual intrigue abound. The primary families are the Stark, Lannister, and Baratheon families. Robert Baratheon, King of Westeros, asks his old friend Eddard Stark to serve as his chief advisor. Eddard, suspecting that his predecessor had been murdered, accepts so that he can investigate further. »

'Game Of Thrones' Photos Reveal First Look At HBO's 'Lord Of The Rings'-esque Epic

23 November 2010 9:08 AM, PST | MTV Movies Blog | See recent MTV Movies Blog news »

Confession time: I only got into George R.R. Martin's "Song of Ice and Fire" series this past year, and it's one of the best decisions I've ever made. There are only four novels released of the planned seven so far (damn you, George) and they clock it at an average of 100 pages a tome, but from the first page of the first novel in the series, "Game of Thrones," you become hooked.

If this is the first time you're hearing the words "Game of Thrones" in a sentence and you're a fan of epic fantasy, go out to your nearest bookstore and buy the novel. Once you're done, plan on subscribing to HBO in the spring, because everything I've heard about their upcoming adaptation makes it look amazing. And since I don't expect all of you to have been keeping religious tabs on their making0of website, Entertainment Weekly »

Game Of Thrones: Feast Your Eyes On Brand New Pics From The Set

Take a look at ten new pictures from HBO’s television adaptation of George R.R.Martin’s epic fantasy series Song of Ice and Fire, entitled Game of Thrones. The highly anticipated series is slated to debut on HBO in 2011.

HBO‘s take on George R.R. Martin‘s best-selling series chronicles the bloody fight for the throne of King Robert Baratheon (Mark Addy), who rules over the land of Westeros with the help of his right-hand man, Lord Eddard Stark (Sean Bean), while behind castle walls intrigue brews in the form of attempted murders, more than one incestuous liaison — and the dark backstory of Stark’s bastard son, Jon Snow (Kit Harington, pictured here at far left).

Armored soldiers on horseback are a typical sight on location in the Northern Ireland countryside. ”It’s time-consuming, shooting riding,” says Mark Addy, who mounts a black stallion regularly as King Robert Baratheon. »

The Hunger: The Taste of Terror (2010)

26 September 2010 7:25 PM, PDT | Planet Fury | See recent Planet Fury news »

Produced by: Tony Scott and Ridley Scott

Hosted by: David Bowie and Terrence Stamp

Cast: Daniel Craig, Karen Black, Lena Headey, Balthazar Getty, Giovanni Ribsi, Eric Roberts, and Kate Vernon.

If you find yourself questioning the familiarity of The Hunger: The Taste of Terror, look no further than the British, Canadian horror anthology series, The Hunger. Despite being produced by Tony Scott and being half hosted by David Bowie, the series has nothing to do with the film of the same name. Debuting in 1997 and appearing on Showtime, The Hunger fused supernatural and horror elements with eroticism and a lot boobs. However, due to the series' late night time slot and the limitations of half hour episodes, the series received negative reception. Once Masters of Horror took over in 2005, The Hunger seemed to be left behind in the wake of a show that featured more gore, and many more scares. »
