Guillermo Del Toro To Produce Animated ‘Day Of The Dead’

22 February 2012 2:25 AM, PST | Obsessed with Film | See recent Obsessed with Film news »

As if the guy didn’t already have enough on his plate, we can now add one more movie to our favourite Mexican auteur’s ever growing pile. Director of the modern fantasy classic Pans Labyrinth and the Hellboy Series: Guillermo Del Toro has recently signed on to produce an upcoming CG-animated feature ‘Day Of The Dead’.

At first glance the title may be a bit confusing but let me clarify something: This is not a remake of George Romero’s Day Of The Dead and contains no connection to his zombie franchise or zombies at all it seems;

The story is “an action-packed, fully CG-animated picture, with a “Romeo and Juliet” style love story set against a Mexican “Day of the Dead” backdrop”.

Setup at Reel FX, the project will be directed by Emmy Award Winner Jorge R. Gutierrez best known for Nickelodeons El Tigre, The Adventures of Manny Rivera. »

First Reviews For Ghost Rider: Spirit Of Vengeance Hit

16 February 2012 11:43 AM, PST | ComicBookMovie.com | See recent ComicBookMovie news »

The websites Little White Lies and Financial Times have the first reviews of Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance, and they're not very good. The first review is far more detailed than the second and more harsh. Read the full review from Litte White Lies Here and the full review from Financial Times Here. Here are excerpts from both reviews: Little White Lies: It’s sad to report that Spirit of Vengeance has little of the boisterous Xbox vitality of their Crank-ed up finest, but plenty in common with the slack narrative, confounding characters, bromidic dialogue, shaky SFX and palpable ambition-to-budget shortfall of the Jimmy Hayward-directed atrocity, Hex. The lack of conviction brought to the story echoes throughout the entire production, with dumb character reveals, disjointed scenes, drab locations and stranded pauses in the middle of action sequences. The occasional flash of directorial bravado, such as Cage burning headlong »

Going Behind The Scenes Of Dr. Seuss' The Lorax

30 January 2012 9:55 AM, PST | cinemablend.com | See recent Cinema Blend news »

Dr. Seuss is one of those writers whom we will never forget. From themes that touch children and adults alike to the unique drawings to his use of trisyllabic meter, the author.s work is already beloved by multiple generations and it will continue to be until the end of time. One element helping to ensure Seuss. is never forgotten is the on-going film series based on his books. It began in 2008 with Jimmy Hayward and Steve Martino.s Horton Hears a Who! and on March 2nd it will continue with Dr. Seuss' The Lorax. A few months back a group of journalists, including myself, was granted the opportunity to visit Illumination Entertainment, the production company behind the upcoming adaptation. While there we not only had the opportunity to watch nearly 20 minutes of footage from The Lorax, but also speak with producer and company founder Christopher Meledandri. For those unfamiliar »
