Review: Lucha Underground: All Night Long...Again

31 May 2017 9:38 PM, PDT | | See recent LRM Online news »

Lucha Underground has returned tonight on El Rey Network for their Mid-Season Premiere. Tonight's episode saw Lucha Underground Champion Johnny Mundo face off against challenger The Mack in an All Night Long match.

What is an All Night Long match you may be asking? Simple. It's an Iron Man match taking place during the run time for the episode. Iron Man matches are tough to pull off. In the days where the audience was not exactly aware of the fact that what they were seeing was entertainment, pulling off hour long matches would be the norm. The biggest wrestling organization until Vince McMahon came along was the National Wrestling Alliance. They would send their champion to territories around the world facing challengers in matches that routinely went an hour. While the matches mostly ended up in a draw, the popular wrestler in a territory would end the match looking like »

Jinder Mahal WWE Championship plans leaked? Cm Punk MTV bust up – WrestleTalk News

Oli Davis rounds up the biggest professional wrestling news in his daily WrestleTalk column…

Following her Nxt TakeOver: Chicago win last Saturday – where she pinned both Ruby Riot and Nikki Cross (I’m don’t know if they’re counting that as two victories) – Nxt Women’s Champion Asuka has not just passed Goldberg’s actual winning streak number of 157, but also the fictitious amount WCW made up of 173. Asuka is now undefeated in Nxt, with 177 wins. That number’s probably increased since I started talking. I’m afraid of her.

Asuka tweeted in celebration:

I respect Goldberg so much. He is amazing. I am honored to be the undefeated champion with the longest streak in WWE history. #WWE #Wwenxt

— Asuka / 明日華 (@WWEAsuka) May 24, 2017

To which Bill himself replied:

……the "streak" is in very good hands #Congrats Rt @WWEAsuka: I respect Goldberg so … https://t. »

Oli Davis rounds up the biggest professional wrestling news in his daily WrestleTalk column…

Jinder Mahal Arrives

‘No Carbs’ Jinder Mahal opened Smackdown, arriving backstage in a limo, complete with 4×4, fancy entrance carpet and a convoy of police on motorcycles. The WWE machine is so behind Jinder, he even got Triple H’s Wrestlemania entrance.

Money in the Bank Lineup Revealed

Shane McMahon opened the actual show in front of the live crowd, announcing the lineup for Smackdown’s next pay-per-view, Money in the Bank. Randy Orton will get his WWE Championship rematch against Jinder, and Aj Styles, Dolph Ziggler, Sami Zayn, Baron Corbin, Shinsuke Nakamura and, after some complaining to McMahon, Kevin Owens will compete in the Money in the Bank ladder match match.

That’s a hell of a lineup right there.

And Baron Corbin.

Shane made a Backlash rematch later tonight of Corbin vs Zayn, and – holla holla, »

Seven More Ex-Superstars WWE Should Sign

8 April 2017 8:45 AM, PDT | Flickeringmyth | See recent Flickeringmyth news »

Liam Hoofe takes a look at seven other ex-superstars the WWE should consider signing…

With Kurt Angle and The Hardy Boyz having returned to the WWE this past week, and Drew McIntyre re-signing with the company too, it would appear as though the WWE is entering a new era of rehiring old superstars to add to their current roster.

Since last year’s brand split we have also seen the return of Curt Hawkins, Shelton Benjamin (well, not yet), Jinder Mahal and of course, Goldberg. The company’s willingness to reach out to old stars has opened the door to many possible returns and here is a look at seven other stars the company should consider reaching out to.

Rey Mysterio

With WWE’s cruiserweight division finally beginning to get some momentum behind it, there would be no better time to add some real star power to the division than now. »

The Undertaker’s WrestleMania Streak – Ranked from Worst to Best

31 March 2017 7:15 AM, PDT | Flickeringmyth | See recent Flickeringmyth news »

Liam Hoofe ranks The Undertaker’s WrestleMania streak from worst to best…

This Sunday The Undertaker will compete in his 25th WrestleMania match against Roman Reigns. While this may not be the match fans are after it is certainly an interesting one, and with rumours circulating that The Undertaker may be forced to call it a day after this match there is a very high possibility we will see Roman Reigns retire The Undertaker this Sunday night.

Now, this will be an incredibly polarising move and if I’m being honest,  I’m okay with it providing Reigns turns heel in the process. Regardless of this Sunday’s outcome, The Undertaker has had one of, if not the best careers in WWE history and the phenom will be fondly remembered for generations to come.

The most lasting thing of his legacy though is the streak, and while he has had »

10 Best Wrestlemania Matches To Watch On The WWE Network Part 1

29 March 2017 5:12 PM, PDT | | See recent LRM Online news »

It’s that time of year again. Wrestlemania is soon upon us. This event has become the most important event in professional wrestling, showcasing the best of the best of the sport putting on the show of their lives. With Wrestlemania appearing this Sunday on the WWE Network, I thought I’d take the time to discuss my ten favorite Wrestlemania matches, matches that to me epitomize everything that is great about the event. Like any list, it is purely subjective so if you disagree with anything or feel I left something out, let’s discuss it in the comments below.

Hulk Hogan vs Andre the Giant- Wrestlemania 3

“The irresistible force meeting the immovable object!”

Without Wrestlemania 3, it’s possible that Wrestlemania could have gone the way of Starrcade. The first two Wrestlemania’s, while star studded and showing some glimpses of what the event eventually became, were more events of their time. »

Finn Balor return update, ex-wwe star return plans revealed?

24 February 2017 11:50 AM, PST | Flickeringmyth | See recent Flickeringmyth news »

The worlds of professional wrestling and adult pornography crossover more than most would care to admit.

So I’m told.

From a friend.

Candice Michelle used to star in softcore porn films, Hulk Hogan had his sex-tape leaked by Gawker, and following her WWE career, Chyna starred in several adult movies, including Chyna Is Queen of the Ring, where she beat off nine other porn stars in a gang-bang Battle Royal.

So I read.

On the Internet.

On a private browser.

Adult film company Brazzers have now started filming their version of – and it’s surprising it’s taken so long considering the name – the Montreal Screwjob. Which gender bends Bret Hart and Shawn Michaels into porn stars Romi Rain and Mia Malkova, and casts Johnny Castle as Vince McMahon.

Wanna wrestle? @Brazzers @MiaMalkova @thejohnnycastle

WWE Royal Rumble Predictions

29 January 2017 2:04 PM, PST | | See recent LRM Online news »

January 24th, 1988 was a great day in wrestling history. On that date, live on the USA Network, the WWE held their first ever Royal Rumble. In classic Vince McMahon fashion, holding this event for free on cable was a way to keep folks from ordering the Bunkhouse Stampede pay per view Jim Crockett Promotions put out that same day. The Royal Rumble match itself was revolutionary. Starting with two performers in the ring, at regularly timed intervals, another performer would come out until, in the case of the 1988 Royal Rumble, all twenty participants were in the ring. The winner of that first Rumble was Hacksaw Jim Duggan.

Fast forward 29 years and here we are at the 30th Royal Rumble. Unlike the Rumble’s that have occurred the past five years, the WWE has done an amazing job of promoting this event. They have some great matches in store as well »
