Charming, shaggy blond British actor, singer, composer and musician, born in London, best known in the US for co-starring with Stefanie Powers in the popular 1960s TV spy series The Girl from U.N.C.L.E. (1966) and winning brief cult status. He won the role after being spotted by the producer's wife on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson (1962).
In America from 1965, he abandoned Hollywood in the 1970s for Nova Scotia, where he designed and hand-built his own home. He also played guitar with country, folk, and bluegrass bands and even hosted Take Time with Noel Harrison (1974), a CBS-TV program about songwriters.
Married three times and has five children: Cathryn Harrison, an actress; Simon Harrison, an actor and musician; Harriet Harrison, a horse trainer; Chloe, a record-company exec; and Will, a musician-songwriter.
