Tom Bergeron‘s 2020 firing continues to divide DWTS viewers. However, in a new interview, the television personality sheds new light on his departure from the celebrity competition series, claiming he “screwed” producers before leaving the series for good.
Ex-‘DWTS’ host Tom Bergeron says he ‘screwed’ producers after ‘they screwed him’
Tom Bergeron, who hosted DWTS from seasons one through 28, was a constant on the ever-evolving ABC series. From day one, he provided light banter while moving the live show along and, ultimately, became as integral a part of the series as its celebrities and dancers.
Bergeron remained DWTS‘ stalwart. He hosted alongside Lisa Canning in season one, Samantha Harris from seasons two through nine, Brooke Burke from seasons 10 through 17, and Erin Andrews from seasons 18 through 28.
ABC announced Bergeron and Andrews’ surprise exit in July 2020, stating that the show was heading in “a new creative direction.” Tyra Banks replaced Bergeron...

“Dancing With the Stars” professional dancer Gleb Savchenko would love to see the ABC dancing competition feature its first same-sex partner pairings, with other countries’ versions of the show already having brought that change to the format.
“I can’t wait for this moment! Last season when Johnny Weir got on the show I was like, ‘Johnny, you Have to be my partner, but they ended up not doing it,” the “DWTS” pro told Mr. Warburton magazine in a recent interview.
Savchenko noted that the “DWTS” franchise has included same-sex dance couples in other countries, including the U.K.’s “Strictly Come Dancing,” which is the format all the “DWTS” series are based on, and the Australian version. “They’ve done it before in Australia with Courtney Act and in the UK with Nicola Adams and they were both amazing!”

It's the end of an era for E! News.
The long-running entertainment show has become a casualty of the Coronavirus pandemic, according to Variety.
Pop of the Morning and In the Room have also been nixed at the network.
The decision to cancel the trio comes as parent company NBCUniversal is looking to “streamline its programming and restructure internally to create more efficiencies.”
All three shows were produced in New York City, but as part of the restructuring, future productions are said to return to Los Angeles.
E! News had relocated to New York in August 2019 in a shakeup that saw the series being shifted from its 7 p.m. Et perch to 7 a.m. Et.
E! News has been overhauled multiple times since it debuted in 1991.
The series had a string of big names as part of its hosting roster, including Samantha Harris (2005–2008), Jason Kennedy (2005–2019), Variety‘s Marc Malkin (2006–2017), Maria Menounos...

This year, the National Football League and the American Cancer Society (Acs) are expanding their efforts to support the fight against cancer through the “Crucial Catch: Intercept Cancer” campaign.
After nearly a decade of supporting breast cancer, the NFL and Acs have broadened the campaign to include early detection and risk reduction efforts for other cancers to increase the impact of the campaign.
Since 2009, the NFL has raised more than $18 million for Acs through the partnership. Money raised through Crucial Catch this season will be directed toward efforts to encourage people to get screening tests for three cancers: breast, colorectal and cervical. Funding will continue to support the American Cancer Society’s Community Health Advocates implementing Nationwide Grants for Empowerment and Equity (Change) program, which provides outreach and cancer screenings to individuals in underserved communities. Since 2012, grant recipients have contributed to nearly 150,000 screenings and 450,000 education and outreach interventions.

American Sniper focuses on Chris Kyle's military service and his difficulty adjusting to life back home, but what the movie doesn't show is Kyle's attempt at a TV career.
The man widely regarded to be the deadliest sniper in U.S. history was once on a NBC reality show hosted by former Et correspondent Samantha Harris called Stars Earn Stripes.
News: Michael Moore and Seth Rogen Respond to American Sniper Criticisms
The competition show paired up celebrities with military operatives who mentored the celebs through the experience of day-to-day military operations. Kyle was teamed with Dean Cain.
