24: Legacy Recap: Wait, So [Spoiler] Sent the Rangers to Their Death??

This week on Fox’s 24: Legacy, Carter literally banged down walls in order to get his hands on the flash drive, while viewers learned exactly who was behind the leak that put the Army Rangers in harm’s way.

Related24: Legacy Recap: Hour 2 Rapidly Escalates the Crazy, Hints at First Mole

Cornered by a wall of blue in the cop shop’s evidence locker, Carter did what I thought he was going to do in the first place — use the explosive charges to blast a hole into the wall, but here as a means to escape (after confirming

24: Legacy Recap: Hour 2 Rapidly Escalates the Crazy, Hints at First Mole

If you thought that 24: Legacy was borderline restrained with its post-Super Bowl premiere — only raising our collective eyebrow with the almost-routine tasering of a CTU boss — Episode 2 was here to reassure you that “ridiculous” will still be in abundant supply.

Poll24: Legacy Will You Make Time for the Real-Time Revival?

First and foremost, there was the next leg of former Army Ranger Eric Carter’s scramble to reclaim the flash drive containing the late Sheik Ibrahim Bin-Khalid’s U.S. sleeper cells and activation codes. Dealing with an “angry and unstable” Grimes, Carter learned that his

Westworld’s Jimmi Simpson Reveals How He Figured Out The Man In Black Twist

Season 1 of HBO’s Westworld brought with it a large amount of twists and turns, some expected and others more predictable. While the identity of The Man in Black (Ed Harris) was figured out by fans several weeks before it was revealed in the finale, it was still no less of a shocker. We may have known it was coming, but the moment where we finally see that The Man in Black is actually William (Jimmi Simpson) is still quite effective and will no doubt be remembered as one of the show’s more powerful moments.

As with many of Westworld‘s twists, most of the cast were kept in the dark on this, including Simpson. Throughout production, however, the actor began to clue in thanks to a slip up by one of the makeup artists on the show. Speaking with Vanity Fair, Simpson reveals how he first discovered that

Hey, Chris Rock: Steal these Oscar jokes!

Hey, Chris Rock: Steal these Oscar jokes!
Last year Gold Derby presented Oscar host Neil Patrick Harris with a list of suggested jokes. They were traditional Academy Award jokes – designed to poke fun at the nominees without being malicious. Remember, those people are incredibly nervous at the start of ceremony. The right opening monologue can help to break the tension, and put the nominees at ease. That sets the tone for the rest of the show. But Mr. Harris and his team ignored our gags. And will he ever emcee the Oscars again? Fortunately, our good pal Chris Rock is hosting this year. Chris, the last time you and I spoke, I told you what a great job you did in 2005. You were hysterical. This year, we know that you can be even better. So here are some complimentary Oscar jokes just for you, courtesy of Gold Derby. Use as many of them as you want. And

Heroes Reborn Episode 9 Review – ‘Sundae, Bloody Sundae’

Tai Freligh reviews episode 9 of Heroes Reborn, ‘Sundae, Bloody Sundae’…

This week’s episode of Heroes Reborn picks up the threads that were missing from the two-parter. We also see how the future was changed by Noah going back in the past. We come back to Carlos and Dearing as well as see a bit more about Tommy. Spoiler warning- there are a few character deaths as well as a few big reveals in this episode. Let’s get to the recap and review!

Turns out Dearing was not betraying Carlos when he gave him the test tube of fluid. He escorts him into Sunstone Manor and turns him over to the people there who test Carlos to see if he’s an Evo. He tests positive (thanks to Dearing). We learn that Sunstone Manor is looking for EVOs who have essential powers like teleportation (Tommy!). Must be run by Renautas.

Heroes Reborn Episode 7 Review – ‘June 13- Part 1’

Tai Freligh reviews episode 7 of Heroes Reborn, ‘June 13 – Part 1’…

This was my favourite episode of the entire Heroes Reborn series by far and earns my first 10 out of 10 rating. It was action-packed. It featured several of the original Heroes, including Mohinder, Angela and Hiro and answered several questions while managing to bring up new ones and provide some clarity to the Heroes Reborn timeline. Let’s get to the recap and review!

The episode opens with Noah and Hiro back in time at the Odessa Summit. Noah wants to stop the bombs from going off, but Hiro doesn’t want to mess with time too much. An associate of Noah’s spots him and tells him Claire is there and he should say hello. Noah rushes off to try and find Claire. Meanwhile, somewhere outside of Odessa, Angela Petrelli has arranged a meeting with Mohinder to try and convince him

Heroes Reborn Episode 6 Review – ‘Game Over’

Tai Freligh reviews episode 6 of Heroes Reborn, ‘Game Over’…

This week’s episode was solid, with some major developments in the plot as well as our many disparate groups crossing paths and coming together as they head towards their ultimate goal of saving the world. Finally we get to see some of the original Heroes while also getting a tease of more to come in next week’s episode. We are already half way through the season, so I expect things to heat up rather quickly as we rush headlong towards the finale. Let’s get on with the recap and review.

Why, Luke, why? Despite my distaste for the Luke/Joanne storyline, I found him to be more likeable and did not see the (Spoiler) suicide attempt coming, but looking back on the last few episodes, he was getting his affairs in order before he checked out. Luke jumps

Heroes Reborn Episode 5 Review – ‘The Lion’s Den’

Tai Freligh reviews episode 5 of Heroes Reborn, ‘The Lion’s Den’…

After last week’s most excellent episode, this week Heroes Reborn took a step backwards And jumped the shark. We finally know what the world needs to be saved from, but not yet really how our heroes will exactly do that. The storylines all get touched on, but this week it’s all talk and little action. Let’s get to the recap.

Noah Bennet, Quentin and Taylor are all working together to figure out Erica Kravid’s master plan. Taylor is now firmly on Team Hrg and tricks her mother into coming home to chat with her about their earlier argument. Once there, Hrg and Quentin come out of the shadows to confront Erica at gunpoint. Noah questions her about her master plan, especially after seeing giant crates with animal seeds (embryos?) in them in Renautas HQ. She

Heroes Reborn Episode 4 Review – ‘The Needs of Many’

Tai Freligh reviews episode 4 of Heroes Reborn, ‘The Needs of Many’…

Heroes Reborn has settled into a groove of seven distinct character arcs- Tommy/Emily, Luke/Joanne, Hrg/Quentin, Miko/Ren, Carlos/Oscar, Malina/Farah, and Erica Kravid/Mr. Harris. We move through all the storylines in a rapid fashion, jumping back and forth between all the characters and keeping the action going in this week’s episode 4. Let’s jump right into the recap.

This episode does an excellent job of keeping the action moving in all the story lines and also shifts the main story arc from Hrg to Malina and Farah and reveals a bit more about the overall plot. Malina is the one who has been groomed since a child to save the world, and she has been hunted by Renautas all this time. She wonders if she can do it, but her keeper Farah tells

Critics Debate the Best and Worst of the Oscars

Critics Debate the Best and Worst of the Oscars
Three Variety critics agree to disagree about Oscar winners and losers both onscreen and on the Dolby stage.

Peter Debruge: Last year, the Academy made a statement in giving the best picture award to “12 Years a Slave.” This time around, over the course of a spread-the-wealth evening, it was the winners’ turn to speak their minds, and they did so in force, using Hollywood’s prom as a podium to demand equal rights — for women (“Boyhood’s” only winner, Patricia Arquette), for African-Americans (Common and John Legend, accepting “Selma’s” only win), for gays (“The Imitation Game” writer Graham Moore, urging young Lgbt viewers to “stay weird, stay different” as he collected the film’s lone statue), for those with disabilities (both Julianne Moore and Eddie Redmayne turned the spotlight on talents who achieved while coping with Als), and for immigrants (Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu, offering a plea on behalf of

'Gone Girl's' Neil Patrick Harris to host the Oscars
Former Tony and Emmy host Neil Patrick Harris is extending his emcee portfolio to the Oscars: he's tapped to host the 87th annual Academy Awards on Feb. 22. Harris confirmed the news via Twitter like only he could... http://t.co/ZG1EC9ooxK — Neil Patrick Harris (@ActuallyNPH) October 15, 2014 The news was first reported by Variety. It's a perfectly safe choice for show producers Craig Zadan and Neil Meron, who will be at it for a third straight year this time around. After negative fallout (but a boost in ratings) from the Seth MacFarlane-hosted 85th annual show two years ago, they went with former host Ellen DeGeneres last year, and in Harris (who also stars in David Fincher's "Gone Girl," currently in release), they will get a consummate showman who won't ruffle too many feathers, but certainly won't be boring. He's no stranger to awards in general, given the hosting gigs over the years,

Preview 30 Seconds Of Calvin Harris’ Upcoming Track Blame

On September 7th, Calvin Harris will drop his new track that he’s been working on with John Newman. Titled Blame, the DJ has been teasing this one for a few weeks now and today, thanks to two different Instagram videos, we get to hear an additional 30 seconds of material from the song.

The first video comes to us courtesy of Mr. Harris himself while the second one was posted to the Hakkasan Las Vegas Instagram account, where the DJ currently has residency. Of course, it’s tough to form an opinion on a song based on two, 15-second clips, but I definitely like what I hear so far.

These two videos, combined with the one that Harris posted a while back (which we’ve also embedded below) give us a good feel for what we’re going to get from the song and as of now, I’m on board with it.

Rolf Harris admits to 'dark side'

Rolf Harris admitted to having a ''dark side'' in court today (28.05.14). The 84-year-old TV presenter - who stands accused of 12 counts of indecent assault against four underage girls between 1968 and 1986 - agreed that his illicit affair with his daughter's friend proves that there is a darker character behind what the prosecution described as his ''friendly and lovable exterior''. Prosecuting barrister Sasha Wass QC questioned Rolf: ''You are pretty good, Mr. Harris, aren't you, at disguising that dark side of your character?'' The star replied: ''Yes.'' The former 'Animal Hospital' host has strenuously denied sexually assaulting his daughter Bindi's friend as

Original Blob Producer Jack L. Harris Immortalized on Hollywood Walk of Fame

It's not all that often that people who have brought us iconic horror films are given stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, which makes us all the more proud today of Jack L. Harris, the producer of the original 1958 version of The Blob. Read on for the exciting details!

Variety reports that Harris is being honored with a prestigious star on the Walk of Fame today. Now 95-years-old, the legendary movie mogul has produced, marketed, distributed, written and directed scores of films over the years, but The Blob marked his debuted on the Hollywood scene, and is also the one he's most known for.

The B-movie smash marked Steve McQueen’s first starring role, as a teenager who battled an undulating, man-eating mass from a crashed asteroid. Harris persuaded a sleepy Christian-themed film company in Pennsylvania to put its trained technicians to work on the movie, which was shot

'Teen Wolf': Scary selfies, smoke ninjas and Stiles in 'Illuminated'

"Teen Wolf," you have officially blown my mind with "Illuminated." In what may have been the greatest single episode of this excellent show, we got supernatural selfies, a black-light party, near-infinite amounts of shirtlessness, evil Smoke Ninjas ... and Stiles.

Has Stiles turned evil? Why do the smoke ninjas leave the number 5 on their victims? Who has killed/nearly-killed Papa Argent?

<insert scream of frustration and anticipation here>

"Teen Wolf" takes on the selfie

Since it's kind of hard to cover up the fact that a serial killer nearly murdered a girl and then blew out all of Beacon Hills' electricity, Agent McCall and Sheriff Stilinski have a few questions for our favorite supernaturally inclined teens. Unfortunately for them, Stiles is around to kill all questions dead. No one learns anything.

The only real downside here is that McCall insists on keeping Kira's phone as evidence (because Barrow took pictures of her and all). That would be a

“Teen Wolf” 3.07: One Alpha to Rule Them All

  • The Backlot
Previously on Teen Wolf, Danny‘s nipples.

It’s a new day in Beacon Hills which means a new catastrophe is only moments away. Just kidding, the new catastrophe is now. There’s been a ten-car pile-up on a major thoroughfare and it’s chaos in the ER because, as usual, Melissa McCall is the only trained medical professional in this town. Scott‘s hanging around the hospital also, feeding his mom fishes and loaves and taking away the pain of the car-crash victims that haven’t been treated yet. But everyone else’s miseries and deaths are just gonna have to wait because beautiful, beautiful Danny Māhealani comes hobbling in, supported by a completely freaked out Ethan.

I feel like we knew this scene was coming since the very first teaser trailer landed months ago, but we’ve lost two lesbian TV characters this summer and seeing Danny laid
