Hardy Vs. Theron: What Really Happened on the Set of Mad Max?

16 June 2017 5:27 PM, PDT | MovieWeb | See recent MovieWeb news »

While 2015's Mad Max: Fury Road was one of the biggest critical and commercial hits of 2015, there had long been rumors that its two stars, Tom Hardy and Charlize Theron simply did not get along. Nothing specific about their reported spat has surfaced since then, but their animosity towards one another was confirmed by their co-star, Zoe Kravitz, during an appearance on Bravo's Watch What Happens Live. Here's what the actress had to say during her appearance on the show, when a caller asked if she witnessed any "beef" between Tom Hardy and Charlize Theron on the Mad Max: Fury Road set.

"They didn't get along. We were also in the desert for so long. I think everyone was tired, and confused, and homesick. We saw nothing but sand for six months. You go crazy, you do. It's not even personal. I actually don't know if there was one issue. »

Zoe Kravitz Talks Charlize Theron & Tom Hardy’s Feud On ‘Mad Max: Fury Road’

16 June 2017 9:26 AM, PDT | The Playlist | See recent The Playlist news »

You probably don’t need to be reminded that there was no love lost between Charlize Theron and Tom Hardy during the making of “Mad Max: Fury Road.” Both actors tried their best to play down the rumors, and Hardy even went so far as to apologize to director George Miller at Cannes for being “frustrated” during the making of the movie. But even Theron would later say, “From what I hear, he’s not like that on every movie — I hear he’s had good experiences,” while Hardy himself conceded that, at times during productions of a film, “I’ve been a dick.” Now another insight into the Theron/Hardy battle comes from one of their co-stars.

Sony’s Venom movie to begin production this September

16 June 2017 5:10 AM, PDT | Flickeringmyth | See recent Flickeringmyth news »

Having found a director and star last month in Ruben Fleischer (Zombieland) and Tom Hardy (The Dark Knight Rises), it seems that Sony is moving full steam ahead with its Spider-Verse launching Venom solo movie.

According to Omega Underground, production on the solo film is set to get underway on September 1st, and will shoot in Atlanta and New York City. The latter is of course home to Spider-Man, although given that Marvel Studios chief Kevin Feige has confirmed this week that the movie will not be part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, it remains to be seen whether Spider-Man will be referenced in the film, or if they’ll be altering the origin of Eddie Brock.

Venom is set for release on October 5th 2018 and is the first of Sony’s planned Spider-Man spinoffs. The second, titled Silver & Black, will focus on the characters of Silver Sable and the Black Cat. »

Venom Begins Shooting This September

14 June 2017 2:37 PM, PDT | MovieWeb | See recent MovieWeb news »

Sony may have given Marvel Studios the right to use Spider-Man in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, a seemingly very good decision for everyone involved, but that doesn't mean the studio is getting out of the comic book movie game. They are going to make use of the other Spider-Man characters they have, starting with an R-rated Venom movie that will star Tom Hardy in the lead role. Now we have word that the studio is plowing forward with the first of several Spidey spin-off movies, as Venom is reportedly going to be starting production in September.

According to Omega Underground, Sony will start shooting Venom on September 1 in both Atlanta, Georgia and New York City. Since the movie is currently slated to hit theaters on October 5, 2018, that timetable seems to make a lot of sense. There is no word yet on how long production is expected to last, but shoots »

Fresh Action Shots For Spider-Man: Homecoming Spotlight The Young Aunt May, Parker’s Squad And Much More

14 June 2017 2:04 PM, PDT | We Got This Covered | See recent We Got This Covered news »

Now that the Guardians of the Galaxy have had their moment in the sun – bringing The Sovereign people to their knees in the process – all eyes in the Marvel camp are beginning to turn toward Spider-Man: Homecoming, Jon Watts’ franchise reset that will become the sixth Spidey movie in almost 15 years.

But this time around, it’s different. Rather than hailing from Sony Pictures – the studio is busy piecing together its own Marvel universe, beginning with the launch of the Tom Hardy-fronted Venom movie in 2018 – Homecoming is the first in a trilogy of Spider-Man movies from Marvel Studios, and though Sony is still poised to receive a sustainable cut of the profits as per the licensing agreement, following his cracking debut in Civil War, we can hardly wait to see Tom Holland headline his own standalone movie as the friendly neighborhood Web-Head.

Kevin Feige confirms that Sony’s Venom movie is not part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe

14 June 2017 10:19 AM, PDT | Flickeringmyth | See recent Flickeringmyth news »

Despite striking a deal with Marvel Studios for Spider-Man: Homecoming (and its subsequent sequels), Sony Pictures is looking to put its Spidey rights to further use, having announced the spinoff movies Venom and Silver & Black, the latter featuring the characters of Silver Sable and Black Cat.

Given that Tom Holland’s wall-crawler exists within the Marvel Cinematic Universe, there has been some question as to the status of these other projects. Most have assumed they’ll be separate, and now that is official as Marvel Studios chief Kevin Feige has told AlloCine that: “For now, there is no plan for Venom in the McU. It’s a Sony project.”

While that is one question answered, Feige’s response raises several more: How will Sony handle Venom’s origin without Spider-Man? Does Holland’s Spider-Man exist in both universes? If not, will we be getting two concurrent Spider-Men? If those rumours »

Sony-Backed Venom Spinoff Reportedly Eyeing September Start Across New York And Atlanta

14 June 2017 10:04 AM, PDT | We Got This Covered | See recent We Got This Covered news »

Eddie Brock, look away now; the alien symbiote is almost ready to seize control of its latest host.

Omega Underground is reporting that the Sony-backed Venom spinoff is now poised to enter production across Atlanta and New York City on September 1st, when Zombieland director Ruben Fleischer will be calling the shots from behind the lens. We know that Fury Road star Tom Hardy has signed on to play Brock/Venom in a film that will launch Sony’s own Marvel Universe that is ostensibly independent from the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

It’s a wildly ambitious strategy, particularly when you consider how many fans felt Venom’s last screen appearance (see: the overstuffed and overblown Spider-Man 3) left much to be desired. Other plans include movies featuring such iconic characters as Silver Sable and Black Cat, and despite rumors to the contrary, it’s understood that Tom Holland’s friendly »

Kevin Feige isn’t ruling out R-rated McU movies

14 June 2017 12:40 AM, PDT | Flickeringmyth | See recent Flickeringmyth news »

Up until now all McU blockbusters have been PG-13, and that doesn’t seem to be changing anytime soon. However with the box office successes of Deadpool and Logan, some wondered if Marvel Studios would also go down the R-rated route, which Kevin Feige shot down back in April. “My takeaway from both of those films is not the R rating; it’s the risk they took, the chances they took, the creative boundaries that they pushed, that should be the takeaway for everyone.”

However in a Facebook Live interview, Feige has re-addressed his position on R-rated movies, saying they could happen down the line.

“[We’re] not currently planning [R-rated movies], no, but it’s not out of the question,” he said. “When I started at Marvel 17 years ago, the Blade franchise was doing very well. A lot of people didn’t even know it was based on a Marvel character, because at the time, »
