Baby Driver, The Silent Man, and Wind River make our daily movie newsBaby Driver, The Silent Man, and Wind River make our daily movie newsZachary Dent5/25/2017 5:02:00 Pm

In today's daily movie news we have a couple clips and a new trailer coming at you!

Baby Driver dropped a new featurette this week in which Ansel Elgort introduces us to his character, Baby. This film is from Edgar Wright, the writer/director of Scott Pilgrim vs. The World, Hot Fuzz and Shaun of the Dead. Enough said, right? It's about a young getaway driver (Elgort), who after being coerced into working for a crime boss, finds himself taking part in a heist doomed to fail.

This feels like Drive but for teens! It also has a great cast including Kevin Spacey, Jon Hamm, Jamie Foxx, Lily James, and Jon Bernthal. Check out the clip below and see Baby Driver »

Why Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt Acknowledged Sexual Assault in Season 3

22 May 2017 6:52 AM, PDT | E! Online | See recent E! Online news »

In the third episode of Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt season three, Kimmy (Ellie Kemper) finally addressed what happened to her when she was being held captive by Reverend Richard Wayne Gary Wayne (Jon Hamm): rape. Laura Dern's character, Wendy, a woman who intends to marry Hamm's incarcerated villain, described her night in Manhattan with Kimmy as a Noel Coward play, because Kimmy is legally married to the Reverend and Dern's character is technically the Reverend's mistress. "If Noel Coward really was a coward who rapes everybody," Kimmy said to Dern's character about the comparison, confirming years of sexual assault at the hands of the Reverend. "Becoming Bond" Screening With George Lazenby: Cinema Retro's Mark Cerulli Reports

(The new documentary "Becoming Bond" is now showing on the Hulu network.)

By Mark Cerulli

Prior to seeing Josh Greenbaum’s illuminating documentary, Becoming Bond, which premiered on Hulu May 20th, I had dismissed George Lazenby’s mystifying refusal to continue as 007 as just another gullible young actor taking bad career advice; like Tom Selleck passing on Indiana Jones, Travolta nixing Forrest Gump, Thomas Jane handing Don Draper to Jon Hamm… but there’s more to it than that, a lot more as it turns out.

Cleverly combining interview footage of Lazenby, still hale and hearty at 77, with well-staged recreations, Becoming Bond dives deep into this complicated and impulsive star to understand How he could casually dump one of the most coveted roles in the history of film. As it turns out, that decision is symbolic of who George Lazenby really is: intelligent, charming, naïve but most of all, independent. »

‘My Friend Dahmer’ With Ross Lynch Sells to FilmRise (Exclusive)

My Friend Dahmer,” one of the buzziest titles out of this year’s Tribeca Film Festival, has landed a North American distribution deal, Variety has learned.

FilmRise nabbed the drama and is planning a theatrical release in the fall of 2017. Critics embraced the film when it screened in Tribeca, with Ross Lynch, a Disney Channel star, receiving particular praise for his eerie turn as a high-school age Jeffrey Dahmer.

“It’s a serious and audacious attempt to dramatize the inner life of a sick puppy when he wasn’t quite so sick,” wrote Variety reviewer Owen Gleiberman.

The film is based on an acclaimed graphic novel of the same name by Derf Backderf, a classmate of Dahmer. It’s an attempt to look at the troubled childhood of Dahmer, a serial killer who murdered 17 men »

Our favourite Edgar Wright scenes before Baby DriverOur favourite Edgar Wright scenes before Baby DriverAdriana Floridia5/15/2017 10:35:00 Am

Edgar Wright only has four major features under his belt, but he's already regarded as a legendary filmmaker.

Three of these films make up the "Three Flavours Cornetto" trilogy, a series of films which are all directed by Wright, written by Wright and actor Simon Pegg, and starring Pegg and Nick Frost. Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz, and The World's End make up this thematic trilogy--which have a running joke of all being in reference to a different flavour of Cornetto ice cream. Despite this quirky running theme, the three films are vastly different. Shaun of the Dead is a zombie film, Hot Fuzz is a buddy cop movie, and The World's End is an apocalyptic pub crawl. All three are hilarious and highly regarded comedy films.
