She was nominated for a 2002 Laurence Olivier Theatre Award for Best Actress of 2001 for her performance in "A Day in the Death of Joe Egg" at the New Ambassador's Theatre, London.
She was awarded the 2000 London Critics Circle Theatre Award (Drama) for Best Actress for her performance in As You Like performed at the Crucible, Sheffield, and Lyric Hammersmith Theatres.
She was awarded the 1995 London Critics Circle Theatre Award (Drama Theatre) for Most Promising Newcomer for her performance in The Master Builder.
Played the part of Mrs. Forster in the BBC's mini Pride and Prejudice (1995) (1995) which stared Colin Firth as Mr. Darcy. Six years later she starred opposite Jonathan Firth, Colin's brother, in the title roles in Victoria & Albert (2001).
