Producer Drew Fellman talks Born to be Wild, running from lions and Morgan Freeman

When professional photojournalist Drew Fellman travelled to Borneo over 17 years ago and visited renowned primatologist Birute Galdikas' research station, the trip left an unshakable impression on him, one that would keep him looking for a way to properly share the amazing sights, sounds, people and young animals he encountered during his stay in Southeast Asia for almost two decades.

With a background in travel and documentary photography, and having dabbled in film with IMAX pioneers Howard Hall and Toni Myers, it didn't take Fellman too long to figure out that a documentary film about the animal orphan rehabilitation program he witnessed would be the ideal way to give audiences an intimate look at these amazing beasts in their natural habitats. And so Born To Be Wild was, well, born.
