Captain Haggerty was born on December 3, 1931 in Bronx, New York City, New York, USA as Arthur J. Haggerty. He is known for his work on Forever (1992), Honeymoon in Vegas (1992) and The Last Dragon (1985). He died on July 3, 2006 in West Palm Beach, Florida, USA.

Father of Babette Haggerty-Brennan
Rose to the rank of captain in the Army and used the "captain" title in civilian life as a marketing device. He received a Bronze Star and three Purple Heart medals in the Korean War. He was later a scout-dog training officer at Ft. Carson, Colo., Ft. Ord, Calif., and Ft. Benning, Ga.
Wrote several books including "How to Teach Your Dog to Talk" in 2002.
Appeared frequently on the Johnny Carson, David Letterman and Mike Douglas shows.
The bald-domed actor was TV's "Mr. Clean" in commercials.
A large-framed, bald actor and leading dog trainer, he opened the Tri-State School for Dogs in New York in 1961 and became the official dog trainer to the stars.
He trained dogs for more than 150 movies, 450 commercials, Broadway ("Annie"), and soap operas. It is estimated that he worked with over 100,000 dogs.
