Dreamworks’ ‘Turbo’ Trailer Is Super Slow

21 December 2012 11:30 AM, PST | The Hollywood News | See recent The Hollywood News news »

And I don’t mean slow in a bad way. Turbo is just one of Ryan Reynolds’ vocal performances in an animation released next year along with The Croods. Turbo focuses on a snail that loves to race. Only problem being, that he is of course, a snail. This first trailer is everything a good teaser should be. It first introduces us to a Formula 1 race with Reynolds giving us a voice-over. If the footage were in live-action I most certainly would have taken it seriously. We then cut to Turbo the snail as he begins his own race. Which takes a very long time indeed. It made me laugh, Reynolds’ performance sounds perfect, and best of all, the animation looks gorgeous. This could be a bit of another hit for Dreamworks.

Turbo is released 19th July 2013 in the Us and 18th October in the UK. It stars the vocal talents of Ryan Reynolds, »

Jackson, check out the first trailer for DreamWorks Animation’s Turbo.

The scenes of the Indy Motor Speedway look incredible!

DreamWorks Animation’s Turbo is the story of a snail who dreams of being the greatest racer in the world, just like his hero, 5-time Indianapolis 500 champ, Guy Gagné. Turbo’s obsession with speed and all things fast has made him an outsider in the slow snail community, and a constant embarrassment to his cautious older brother, Chet.

DreamWorks Teases Us With New Turbo Trailer

20 December 2012 3:07 PM, PST | We Got This Covered | See recent We Got This Covered news »

The first few seconds of DreamWorks Animation’s teaser trailer for this upcoming summer’s Turbo might lead you to believe the studio is ripping off Pixar’s hugely successful Cars, but stick with the video and you’ll find the star of the film isn’t actually an automobile or racecar driver: It’s a snail.

The movie, set for release on July 19th, 2013, tells the story of an underdog snail (voiced by Ryan Reynolds) who gains super-speed abilities and dreams of winning the Indy 500. While the teaser doesn’t show us much, it does give a throwback to a decidedly less-kid-friendly film: last year’s Drive. Turbo‘s trailer features the Chromatics’ Tick of the Clock, and you’ll instantly be brought back to the violent tale which starred Ryan Gosling.

Also lending their voices to the project are Paul Giamatti, Michael Pena, Luis Guzmán, Bill Hader, Richard Jenkins, »

First teaser for Turbo features Ryan Reynolds as the voice of a snail

With great power comes great responsibility, but fortunately that rule only applies to humans because all this snail wants to do is race.

Dreamwork Animation’s Turbo tells the story of a snail that decides to fulfill his dream of racing at the Indy 500 after miraculously acquiring the power of super-speed. The teaser trailer doesn’t really hint at any of that but it still provides a couple of laughs.

Turbo, which features the voices of Ryan Reynolds, Paul Giamatti, Michael Pena, Luis Guzmán, Bill Hader, Richard Jenkins, Ken Jeong, Michelle Rodriguez, Maya Rudolph, Ben Schwartz, Kurtwood Smith, Snoop Dogg, and Samuel L. Jackson, speeds into theaters on July 19, 2013.

First Amusing Teaser for DreamWorks Animation's Snail Movie 'Turbo'

20 December 2012 9:47 AM, PST | firstshowing.net | See recent FirstShowing.net news »

"Gentlemen, start your engines." DreamWorks Animation has unveiled the new trailer for their upcoming movie Turbo, about a little snail who aspires to be the "fastest snail in the world." Ryan Reynolds voices ambitious racer #5, Turbo, who we've seen before in a few first look reveals earlier this year. The voice cast also includes Paul Giamatti, Michael Pena, Luis Guzmán, Bill Hader, Richard Jenkins, Ken Jeong, Michelle Rodriguez, Maya Rudolph and Snoop Dogg (but none of them are heard in this footage). While there's not much to this teaser, I like the music. Nice riff on Drive and "Going the Distance", but I wanted to see more. Here's the first teaser trailer for DreamWorks Animation's Turbo, in high def from Apple: Turbo is directed by David Soren (who went from storyboard artist, to head of story, to directing the Merry Madagascar Christmas special) working from a script he co-wrote with »

First Teaser Trailer and Poster for DreamWorks Animation’s Turbo Featuring the Voice of Ryan Reynolds

The first teaser trailer and poster for DreamWorks Animation’s upcoming racing movie Turbo have been released.  The story centers on a snail who, after miraculously attaining the power of super-speed, decides to fulfill his dream of racing in the Indy 500.  I got a kick out of the fact that The Chromatics’ “Tick of the Clock,” which was memorably used in last year’s decidedly violent Drive, opens this trailer, followed by another appropriately titled song from Cake.  This is very much a teaser trailer so we don’t see much by way of plot, but the brief bit of racing sequences look pretty impressive and Ryan Reynolds does a fine job with the snail’s comedy. Hit the jump to watch the trailer, and click here to read Dave's recap of the recent DreamWorks Animation presentation which included footage from Turbo.  The film also features the voices of Paul Giamatti, »

From hipster crush on the Us comedy scene to making it big with her first major film role: deadpan TV star Aubrey Plaza talks frankly about having a stroke, working with Charlie Sheen and why she's nothing like her character in Parks And Recreation

When Aubrey Plaza opens the door of her new house in the foothills of Los Angeles' trendy Los Feliz neighbourhood one rainy late afternoon in November, she is dressed for a cosy night in: leggings, over-sized sweatshirt, slippers.

With her Betty Boop pout and deadpan delivery, the Delaware-born daughter of Puerto Rican and Irish parents has been a hipster crush since she exploded on to the Us comedy scene in 2009 with roles as a stand-up comedian in Judd Apatow's Funny People and as a surly city government employee in the NBC mockumentary sitcom Parks And Recreation (coming to BBC4 next year). Just a few days ago, an awful, incomprehensible tragedy took place in Newtown, Connecticut, when a disturbed gunman stole the lives of 20 innocent children and six heroic elementary school employees. The nation learned of the news almost immediately via each and every social network, and television stations subsequently devoted all of Friday and Saturday to coverage of the heartbreaking situation.

There’s never an easy way for Americans who are hurting – even those who may not be directly affected – to segue into watching or performing on less-critical material, whether that »
