Albert Hackett was born on February 16, 1900 in New York City, New York, USA as Albert Maurice Hackett. He was a writer and actor, known for It's a Wonderful Life (1946), The Diary of Anne Frank (1959) and Easter Parade (1948). He was married to Gisella Svetlik and Frances Goodrich. He died on March 16, 1995 in New York City.

Older brother of actor Raymond Hackett.
Son of actress Florence Hackett and Maurice Hackett
In 1956, won the Best Play Tony Award and the Pulitzer Prize for Drama with wife-collaborator Frances Goodrich for "The Diary of Anne Frank".
Both he and his wife/frequent collaborator, Frances Goodrich, lived well into their nineties.

Albert acted on stage from the age of six, making his debut as a girl in "Lottie, the Poor Saleslady". He later toured in vaudeville and appeared on screen in silent comedies.
The Hacketts were one of the most successful screenwriting partnerships in Hollywood history. From the time they got married in 1931, until their retirement in 1962, they turned out in excess of 30 scripts, mostly comedies and musicals.
Frances Goodrich and his stage adaptation of "The Diary of Anne Frank" at the Writers Theatre in Chicago, Illinois was nominated for a 2015 Joseph Jefferson Equity Award for Large Play Production.
