Blonde leading lady of Dutch-German parentage, briefly popular in films of the immediate post-war period. She was trained as a ballet dancer from the age of four and acted on stage in Berlin by her late teens. In 1946, she married the director Eugen York, appearing in several of his films. After her acting career came to an end, she went to work as a voice-over artist.
