But here’s the heartbreaker: It’s apparent this film is the malicious, placenta-devouring offspring of three individuals (Gulager and writers Marcus Dunstan and Patrick Melton) who have created something—thanks to Project Greenlight—expressing their fervid obsession with the genre. However, it just falls short of delivering the double-barrel blast of cult flavor that would make this one an eternal midnight fix. Gulager came close, »

On July 31st, The Collector, the directorial debut of Marcus Dunstan will hit select theaters across the country. And as a genre fan you should take note. This indie flick was written by Dunstan with Patrick Melton, the duo whom have scripted not only the Feast trilogy, but also Saw IV, Saw V and Saw VI. (They've just been tapped to write Saw VII) We got the chance to chat with them about all of the above, including the humble beginnings of The Collector prior to the movie's premiere last night in Hollywood. Read on for our exclusive chat with Marcus Dunstan and Patrick Melton!

In case you missed it last weekend, Fangoria Radio (heard live every Friday on Sirius Xm Stars satellite radio, Sirius channel 108/Xm channel 139, from 10 p.m.-1 a.m. Est) featured some cool Saw VI scoops from Patrick Melton and Marcus Dunstan, the hardest-working screenwriting duo in horror. Besides talking up Jigsaw’s latest (due October 23 from Lionsgate), the scripters also dished on The Collector, their new torture flick which opens this Friday and is reviewed here). While you wait for the full interview to turn up on iTunes (free Fango Radio audio clips are listed in the iTunes Store under the Podcasts tab; simply search for Fangoria), we thought you’d dig these Fango Radio highlights now.

There's not a day that goes by that I don't realize what a fortunate individual I am. That's right, kids -- from time to time your old Uncle Creepy gets to take part in some truly mind-numbingly psychotic antics! Last Friday's Black Devil Doll screening at the historic New Beverly Cinema in La was a night that will not likely be forgotten by anyone in attendance. It was, in a word, chaos.
Shawn and Jon Lewis asked me if I'd be interested in introducing the film for them. I said I'd be happy to, but I don't think even they could imagine the shenanigans that we at Dread Central had planned for the evening. My partner in crime Jon Condit managed to get his hands on over eighty pounds of black dildos for the occasion. (Don't ask.) Anyway, we met up with Jon Lewis, handed him a silver Sharpie, and »
