Willam, Michelle Visage, and More Spoof “Downton Abbey” In Hilarious “Snore”

10 June 2013 3:06 PM, PDT | The Backlot | See recent The Backlot news »

Downton Abbey can be a bit dull. Strike a snooze!

Even if you don’t watch Downton Abbey, surely you can appreciate a “Vogue”-backed satire of the primmest PBS show ever. Featuring Willam, Michelle Visage, Stephen Guarino, Drew Droege, and Vicky Vox, it’s a pretty clean and funny takedown. Droege’s anxious grin as Shirley MacLaine takes the cake, though. Why isn’t she namedropped in the original “Vogue,” huh?

Watch “EastSiders” Episode 6!

The new episode is up, and it’s epic.

The Silver Lake melodrama intensifies in the sixth episode of EastSiders, and now I have to announce the Stephen Guarino moment that made me choke with laughter: “No roses, Mexican lady.” I love him more and more every single week. And I covet the hell out of his beige jacket.

“Elementary” Introduces Irene Adler and Klaine Reunion in the “Glee” Finale?

Plus Fox orders nine pilots, the BBC is remaking Everybody Loves Raymond and Gillian Anderson is Hannibal‘s therapist. News

If the May upfront presentations are like Christmas for me, this week is the one when kids watch every package to come out of the car trunk, looking for clues to what thrills will be discovered under the tree. A few hints came from NBC today as they officially cancelled Deception. (Somebody find Victor Garber a good show, please!). It also passed on seven pilots, including ones starring Tbl-faves Dave Annable, Chris Zylka, Jesse Lee Soffer and Stephen Guarino.

Meanwhile, Variety says that NBC will announce a decision on bubble shows like The New Normal, Go On and Community today. According to Variety, NBC is inclined to clean house with its comedies but there’s a chance some shows will get a 13-episode order to use as midseason replacements.

NBC not moving forward with select pilots: 'Hatfields & McCoys,' 'Holding Patterns' and more

8 May 2013 5:09 PM, PDT | Zap2It - From Inside the Box | See recent Zap2It - From Inside the Box news »

NBC has announced some of the pilots that it will not be ordering to series this fall -- releasing actors and writers from their contracts. This doesn't mean that those not listed here will definitely be picked up; it simply means that they're still in contention for the (many) open spots in NBC's fall lineup.

Not Going To Series:

"Joe, Joe and Jane": A multi-cam sitcom centered on an author, Joe (Will Greenberg) who is torn between his clingy wife Jane (Sally Pressman) and his best friend and writing partner, Joe (Dave Annable). The series, from "The Office" and "Just Shoot Me" writers Joe Port and Joe Wiseman, also starred Larry Wilmore,

"Drop Off" (aka The Gates): Described as "an adult ensemble comedy set at the front gates of an elementary school drop-off," the show revolved around the parents and school staff, and their "social minefield" when picking »

TV on Tap: Jason Ritter Joins "Gavin & Stacey" Remake, "Hannibal" Gets Premiere Date and Stephen Guarino Lands Pilot Role

15 February 2013 5:14 AM, PST | The Backlot | See recent The Backlot news »

It's time for a new season of Degrassi and Cam's still depressed.

I just hope he doesn't start chugging milk again.

News

Jason Ritter has joined Friends & Family, the Fox comedy pilot based on Gavin & Stacey, taking the Gavin role. That's got to be a promising first step, right?

Maggie Smith tells 60 Minutes this weekend that she's never watched Downton Abbey, saying she'd "agonize" over her performance if she did. That's right, even Maggie Smith has those moments of insecurity.

Apparently they didn't mean it. E! has cancelled Whitney Cummings' talk show, Love You, Mean It.

NBC's adaption of About a Boy has cast its lead female, asking Minnie Driver to step into the role played by Toni Collette in the film.

CBS' summer adaptation of Stephen King's Under the Dome just added Breaking Bad alum Dean Norris to the cast.

Wait. Wait. What's this about Cch Pounder »
