Fantastic Four Fan Art Renders John Krasinski As The New Reed Richards

Both Ioan Gruffudd and Miles Teller have tried (and arguably failed) to embody the whip-smart Reed Richards over the years, but a new dawn is coming.

Thanks to Disney’s monumental acquisition of 20th Century Fox and its entertainment assets, one that will have far-reaching implications for the entertainment industry at large, Kevin Feige and Co. now have the chance to reboot the Fantastic Four and incorporate Marvel’s First Family into the McU. And how exciting is that?

Granted, after three forgettable superhero movies in only 10 years, there are signs of franchise fatigue beginning to seep into the Fantastic Four brand, so Marvel Studios will need to capture lightning in a bottle twice (read: Spider-Man: Homecoming) if it’s to make the First Family relevant once more.

And in the eyes of one talented Redditor, John Krasinski is the perfect actor to headline a new rendition of the Fantastic Four,

The Most Disappointing TV Shows of 2017
In the age of peak TV, there’s a lot of bad television out there. But rather than take the time to highlight what everyone should already be forgetting, IndieWire is examining the heartbreaking misses of 2017; the shows that felt like they had something special — either in concept, talent, or early episodes — but failed to fulfill that promise.

For the shows that weren’t cancelled, hope rings eternal. TV is a medium that allows for development, improvement, and the virtual erasure of bad first impressions. The shows below might be a long way from getting good, but their break bad hurt enough that even for the most disappointing, we still hope for the best.

And if you like any shows on the list, then good luck and godspeed. You found something there that we only wish we could have seen. Maybe next year.

‘Liar’ Star Joanne Froggatt Says Rape ‘Shouldn’t be a Taboo Subject in Our Society’ (Exclusive)

‘Liar’ Star Joanne Froggatt Says Rape ‘Shouldn’t be a Taboo Subject in Our Society’ (Exclusive)
On Liar, Joanne Froggatt (of Downton Abbey fame) plays school teacher Laura Nielson, who accuses a handsome widowed doctor (Ioan Gruffudd) of drugging and raping her. The two go out for dinner, where they hit it off, before heading back to Laura’s apartment. Once inside, they flirt over a couple glasses of wine before Laura wakes up alone in bed the next morning, with the sick feeling that she’s been sexually assaulted.

The British miniseries airing on SundanceTV isn’t so much a show about rape, but rather, what happens when someone reports a rape. What unfolds over the six episodes (which will draw to a “satisfying conclusion,” Froggatt tells Et) is scrutiny of Laura’s past as well as the night of the incident, a decision to go public that polarizes friends and family as the show’s anti-heroine becomes more and more unstable.

“I hadn’t seen a TV show tackle the subject
