He was married to writer Linda Grover who wrote for The Doctors (1963), General Hospital (1963) and Search for Tomorrow (1951), as well as the author of several novels. They were the parents of Cindy Grover, Jamie Grover and Steven Grover. At the time of his death in 1997, he was listed as the companion of actress, Ronnie Claire Edwards.
