Back in December, it was confirmed that the hit London stage play Harry Potter and the Cursed Child will be heading across the pond to Broadway, but a timeline for the move wasn't set in stone. Earlier today, the official Harry Potter website Pottermore announced that an official Broadway debut has been set, with the play opening at the Lyric Theatre in New York on Sunday, April 22, 2018. The theater is currently undergoing renovations for a complete transformation before its debut next spring.

Pottermore broke the news earlier today, although no further details about this Broadway opening were revealed. Last month, this Harry Poter stage play won a record-breaking nine Olivier Awards, the most in history, including Best New Play. Stars Jamie Parker, Noma Dumezweni and Anthony Boyle took home the Best Actor, Best Actress in a Supporting Role, and Best Actor in a Supporting Role awards. Harry Potter and the »

Jessica Chastain interviewed Emma Watson for Interview magazine, and Watson spoke about the importance of keeping her personal life private.

She, Daniel Radcliffe and Rupert Grint were children when they were cast in the Harry Potter series, and the actress said that outside of the fictional world of the films, what happened to them in reality "was kind of a fantasy story in itself."

"The story of my life has been of public interest, which is why I've been so passionate about having a private identity," Watson said. "When I step into a character, people have to be »

Fred Weasley Is Alive and Well While Reuniting With George in the Forbidden Forest

29 March 2017 9:01 AM, PDT | Popsugar.com | See recent Popsugar news »

Will seeing the Harry Potter cast reunite ever get old? No. No it will not. A few former Hogwarts students (and one professor) got back together on Tuesday when they stopped by the Forbidden Forest at The Making of Harry Potter Warner Bros. Studio Tour in London. Warwick Davis (Professor Flitwick/Griphook), Evanna Lynch (Luna Lovegood), Oliver Phelps (George Weasley), and James Phelps (Fred Weasley) couldn't have looked happier as they returned to their old stomping grounds. In addition to the men sharing a few Butterbeers while sitting at Hagrid.'s forced perspective table, the group posed with Buckbeak and held lanterns at the forest's entrance. The fun get-together comes just a few weeks after Evanna, Oliver, and James helped unveil the exhibit's expansion with fellow star Jason Isaacs (Lucius Malfoy). Rupert Grint (Ron Weasley) also reunited with Bonnie Wright (Ginny Weasley) at a party in La in early March. »

Rupert Grint Says He Made Ed Sheeran Up to Create "Real Magic" After Harry Potter

22 March 2017 12:45 PM, PDT | Popsugar.com | See recent Popsugar news »

The resemblance between Rupert Grint and Ed Sheeran is nothing new (personally, we don't see it, besides the red hair). While we've loved each of them individually for their amazing careers and talents (one blessed us with Harry Potter, the other with Divide), Rupert decided to come clean about what's really going on during a recent stop at MTV. In a hilarious skit with Josh Horowitz, the Snatched actor revealed that Ed actually isn't a real person. He explained that he made Ed up after Harry Potter ended because he wanted to create "real magic," but it's now become too hard to lead a double life. "I created a character," he said. "He had the voice of an angel, impossibly wispy facial hair . . . so I bought a guitar and a bunch of flannel. I called him Ed, Ed Sheeran. Such a weird name, right?" Before ultimately deciding to still keep Ed around, »

People Are Obsessed With How Much This Baby Girl Looks Like Ed Sheeran

Ever since Ed Sheeran gained fame in 2011 with his debut album +, a long string of lookalikes of the British singer-songwriter have come forward. Harry Potter actor Rupert Grint is one of them, as well as the young kid Ed cast in his "Castle on the Hill" music video, and another "twin" he met back in November 2012. All of them can take a seat, however, because Ed's true doppelgänger has revealed herself: 2-year-old Isla Walton. Ed Sheeran Is Just a Fake Character Created by Rupert Grint to Fill the Void After Harry Potter

22 March 2017 11:08 AM, PDT | E! Online | See recent E! Online news »

After years of people confusing the two, Rupert Grint has finally come clean about Ed Sheeran: the singer is just a figment of his imagination. The Snatch actor joined MTV and opened up about the startling news, revealing how he needed to find a way to make some magic of his own following the end of Harry Potter. Thus, he created the singer "with the voice of an angel, impossibly wispy facial hair." He continued, "So I bought a guitar and a bunch of flannel. I called him Ed, Ed Sheeran, such a weird name...I just didn't expect everyone to think he was real! He became my greatest acting achievement and the bane of my existence." Of course, we can't help but wonder about all »

Rupert Grint Makes Ed Sheeran's "Shape of You" Sound Like Shakespeare

20 March 2017 10:45 AM, PDT | Popsugar.com | See recent Popsugar news »

Rupert Grint and Ed Sheeran look so much alike that people regularly mistake the Snatched actor for Ed on the street, and Ed even cast him in his music video for "Lego House." But do they share a similar set of Grammy-award-winning pipes? It doesn't look like it, but Rupert still made Ed's latest hit, "Shape of You," his own during a dramatic reading of the song for Yahoo. If you've ever wanted to hear lyrics like "And last night you were in my room, and now my bedsheets smell like you" sound like Shakespeare, now's your chance. »

Emma Watson, Rupert Grint, Anna Kendrick and More Stars Who Crushed on Animated Characters

20 March 2017 9:05 AM, PDT | E! Online | See recent E! Online news »

It seems animation is the quickest way to a star's young heart.  Emma Watson, for example, unapologetically revealed recently that she's been harboring a secret crush on her Beauty and the Beast non-human counterpart.  "There's something a bit sad about when he transforms," she told Yahoo! "You're like a bit...oh...okay you were quite nice before. He is hot. The Beast is hot." She's not alone in crushing on childhood characters. Her Harry Potter co-star Rupert Grint recalled the moment he first saw his own cartoon dream girl as a kid.  "I liked Bo Peep in Toy Story….Lois Griffin, Family Guy….I think it was »

‘Snatch’ Review: One Punch From Brad Pitt Had More Power Than Crackle’s New TV Show

16 March 2017 3:11 PM, PDT | Indiewire Television | See recent Indiewire Television news »

It’s been 16 years since Guy Ritchie’s London crime story, “Snatch,” first debuted in the U.S., and, while the black comedy pulled in a decent sum, its primary accomplishment was of a cult fandom (and earning Guy Ritchie a shot at the big time). With that in mind, I don’t feel too bad for only remembering a few key moments from a film built on a sharp wit and distinct characters:

Alan Ford’s thick, creepy glasses; Dennis Farina’s crass American foil to all those classy Brits; Jason Statham proving he can do more than just beat the hell out of his co-stars; the tragic fate of Benicio del Toro’s Franky Four Fingers; and, of course, the sole iconic element of Ritchie’s first major studio film (aside from ultra slo-mo fight scenes): Brad Pitt’s gibberish-spouting gypsy boxer with a devastating right hook, »

TV Review: ‘Snatch’ on Crackle, Starring Rupert Grint

16 March 2017 11:19 AM, PDT | Variety - TV News | See recent Variety - TV News news »

Guy Ritchie’s 2000 film “Snatch” would not be my first pick for a movie that could be massaged into a television franchise — one with 10 hourlong episodes in the bag and possible future seasons lurking on the horizon. The film is a comedy of capers, where crooked hustlers from every walk of life descend on London to pursue their own selfish ends — whether that’s a caravan, a dog, a couple thousand pounds, or a diamond the size of a fist. It’s a film dependent on a tight, expertly woven narrative to feel like more than a mess — and because of its showy, razor-sharp editing, it makes for a violent urban romp that is ineffably cool, even as it reveals its characters’ fundamental, pathetic stupidity.

Snatch,” the Crackle show, imports the general subject matter — small-time crooks, jewels, fixed underground boxing matches — and visual and auditory style of the film — smash cuts, ballsy »
