The series will follow a similar plot to the first movie – albeit without Jackie Chan and Chris Tucker – with Entertainment Weekly stating that the pilot will revolve around “a stoic, by-the-book Hong Kong police officer who is assigned to a case in Los Angeles, where he’s forced to work with a cocky African-American Lapd officer who has no interest in a partner.”

As well as Rush Hour, CBS has also placed orders for family man comedy Joe Time, and Super Clyde, which was originally intended to feature Rupert Grint as a fast food worker who comes into money and decides to put it to good use fighting crime. »

January 28th, 2015, 1:58pm– be96ce30-9c92-11e4-b899-bc764e0868a6 News has been extremely slow since Rupert Grint had his final performance in It’s Only a Play at the beginning of the month, but today a pleasant little surprise has popped up. Photographer Jessie Craig has linked to an online auction where you can buy a beautiful picture she took of Rupert in 2014. The photoshoot took place in February of last year in a BAFTA-themed photoshoot for Wonderland Magazine. At the time, we did see a behind-the-scenes video (watch here!) but we never actually saw the finished product emerge. So we are thrilled that they have decided to put this beautiful photograph online and on auction – it’s quite stunning. See it in its full size here. Let’s cross our fingers that more images from this shoot appear online at some point. In other news, »

'Rush Hour' TV Show Pilot Ordered by CBS

27 January 2015 9:57 AM, PST | MovieWeb | See recent MovieWeb news »

CBS has ordered a pilot for the new TV series Rush Hour, based on the blockbuster movie franchise starring Chris Tucker and Jackie Chan. CBS issued a pilot commitment back in October, with the potential TV series now moving forward to produce the pilot episode. Bill Lawrence, who created Scrubs and Cougar Town, wrote the pilot script, which centers on an arrogant Los Angeles detective who teams up with a by-the-book Hong Kong cop after he is assigned to a case in L.A.

Bill Lawrence revealed earlier this month that the show will feature a new plot that is much different from the movie trilogy, but will feature the same kinds of characters. The actor who will take over the Lee character, originally played by Jackie Chan, will be a martial artist, but the series creator added that he may just find the right actor who doesn't have martial »

CBS orders Rush Hour TV pilot and two new comedies

26 January 2015 9:09 PM, PST | Digital Spy | See recent Digital Spy - Movie News news »

CBS has ordered a pilot for Rush Hour.

Cougar Town creators Bill Lawrence and Blake McCormick have penned an adaptation of the 1998 movie, which originally starred Jackie Chan and Chris Tucker.

The story will follow a stoic, by-the-book Hong Kong police officer who is partnered with a cocky local Lapd officer, who has no interest in working with a partner.

Lawrence recently described the show as: "New plot, same characters, a little younger, a little different, fish out of water. It's a cool script. I'm psyched about it."

Three Rush Hour movies starring Chan and Tucker were released between 1998 and 2007.

CBS has also ordered two other comedy pilots, Super Clyde and Joe Time.

Super Clyde is being redeveloped after an initial pilot order in 2013 which starred Harry Potter actor Rupert Grint. The story focuses on a meek, unassuming fast-food worker who finds his calling.

26 January 2015 8:00 PM, PST | Variety - TV News | See recent Variety - TV News news »

CBS has ordered a drama pilot based on the “Rush Hour” action pic franchise starring Jackie Chan and Chris Tucker.

The Warner Bros. TV pilot was written by comedy vets Bill Lawrence and Blake McCormick. “Rush Hour” director Brett Ratner and producer Arthur Sarkissian are exec producing with Lawrence, McCormick and Jeff Ingold of Lawrence’s Doozer Prods. banner.

The success of the first installment spawned “Rush Hour 2″ in 2001 and “Rush Hour 3″ in 2007.

Hugh Jackman Joins Olympic Biopic 'Eddie the Eagle'

12 January 2015 9:04 AM, PST | MovieWeb | See recent MovieWeb news »

Hugh Jackman has signed on to join Kingsman: The Secret Service star Taron Egerton in the languishing biopic Eddie the Eagle. Taron Egerton won the title role after a "magical screen test" with Hugh Jackman, beating out several other actors such as George MacKay, Jamie Bell and Daniel Kaluuya. Eddie the Eagle is based on the true story of Eddie "The Eagle" Edwards, the first British ski jumper in Olympic history.

Although he took last place in both of his ski jumping events at the 1988 Winter Olympics in Calgary, Eddie the Eagle Edwards became a media sensation. Hugh Jackman will play Chuck Berghorn, a ski jumping expert from Lake Placid who helps Eddie train for the Calgary Olympics. This project has been languishing in development for several years, with actors such as Steve Coogan and Rupert Grint once attached to play Eddie.
