Colleen Grillo began her career as a copywriter for a multi
award-winning advertising agency. She moved to the entertainment
industry and worked as an assistant to a film mogul by day and as a
freelance writer by night. She wrote script coverage, spec scripts,
advertising copy, one sheets for the studios, and published articles
for Los Angeles Magazine and The Los Angeles Times. One spec script she
wrote led to agency representation and to a network executive position
at ABC for Specials and Reality TV. As a network executive, Colleen
bought and spearheaded myriad highly rated projects including one of
the most successful shows in history "America's Funniest Home Videos,"
now in the Smithsonian Museum. She transitioned from the network to
production as a producer for Dennis Miller first on his syndicated show
and then as the sole talent producer on HBO's "Dennis Miller Live"
booking and interviewing A-list celebrities and politicians on a weekly
basis. Colleen received four Emmy nominations during the show's decade
long run and received accolades in the press praising the bookings.
Concurrently and after "Dennis Miller Live" Colleen worked as a
supervising producer, a celebrity talent booker, a reality TV casting
producer, a segment producer, and as the head of talent on several
shows. In 2010 she created PROUD MOTHER PRODUCTIONS and focused on
booking celebrities and heading up talent departments for television
series and specials. For large scale projects, Colleen teamed up with
producer/manager, Rebecca Lambrecht. In 2013 they created PROVEN
TALENT, concentrating on talent booking and custom management for
television specials and network/cable series. Lambrecht and Grillo have
partnered on telecasts such as Miss USA, Miss Universe, and the Golden
Globe Arrivals Special.
