Rick Green was born in 1953 in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. He is a writer and producer, known for The Red Green Show (1991), History Bites (1998) and The No Name Show (1984). He has been married to Ava Green since 2004. He was previously married to Gunda Green.

Former member of the comedy team, The Frantics
In the 1980s, he was a member of the clever Toronto-based comedy troupe, The Frantics, who wrote and performed such shows as "The Frantics Walk Upright" (1987), their survey of world history. The group has reformed. The other members of The Frantics were/are: Paul Chato, Dan Redican, and Peter Wildman.
He has two children: Marta and Nick.
He is a huge fan of the comic strip Tin-Tin and even once met the creator Hergé.
