Damon begs Elena to move on in The Vampire Diaries’ first teaser trailer for season 6.
The Vampire Diaries Season 6 Teaser
In the season 5 finale, viewers got quite a shock when The Vampire Diaries appeared to kill off two of its main characters – Damon, played by Ian Somerhalder, and Bonnie, played by Kat Graham. Though both actors assured audiences they would return in season 6, they refused to say how or in what capacity. Based on the short teaser trailer, it appears that Damon will be appearing to Elena (Nina Dobrev) in drug-induced hallucinations.
While Stefan (Paul Wesley) and Jeremy (Steven R McQueen) appear to be drowning their sorrows in alcohol, Elena is having a much more violent reaction, and is seen in the clip feeding off a woman in the middle of a road.
“Damon’s gone. You need to say goodbye, too,” Stefan tells Elena in the clip, a sentiment later echoed by Damon himself. »

San Diego - "The Vampire Diaries" heartthrob Ian Somerhalder was at Comic-Con to promote the CW drama's upcoming sixth season. Somerhalder dropped hints about what fans can expect after the dramatic cliffhanger finale. "I think what's interesting is these story lines have been told over the course of five years. [And now] the dynamics are changing. It's sort of a reboot," he said. Part of that reboot sees Damon (Somerhalder) and Bonnie (Kat Graham) thrown together on The Other Side. Exploring that relationship is something Somerhalder is excited to delve into. "We saw Damon and Bonnie in the very early run of the show. There was an exorbitant amount of chemistry between them [but] ultimately you never saw them again together because of that…" he said, since the show was primarily about the love triangle between himself, Stefan (Paul Wesley), and Elena (Nina Dobrev). When pressed about how he feels about spending more time with Graham this season, »

Ian Somerhalder "will be" getting married! But wait, before you "Somerhalics" fall to your knees in complete cardiac arrest, please note that there was a crucial follow-up word: "Eventually." Sorry, couldn't resist delivering the news that way, because that's precisely how Ian (inadvertantly) threw me for a loop during our most recent interview, at San Diego Comic-Con. He was there, of course, to promote the upcoming sixth season of The Vampire Diaries, with co-stars Paul Wesley, Nina Dobrev and Kat Graham. While in a silly and yet heated debate about "hate sex"—you had to be there, and you can by clicking on the video above!—Ian referenced that although »
