'Veronica Mars' takes Fandom of the Year at mtvU's awards show

Marshmallows, rejoice! Not only did you successfully fund a Kickstarter campaign to get the movie you wanted made, you also managed to win an award for doing just that.

At Comic-Con in San Diego Thursday night, mtvU announced the winners of their first-ever Fandom Awards. Veronica Mars took home the night’s biggest honor, Fandom of the Year, beating out CommunitySupernatural, and Free! Iwatobi Swim Club in the finals of a 32-nominee bracket. Tina Majorino, who played Mac in Veronica Mars, accepted the award.

In other awards news, Game of Thrones  took Omg Moment of the Year for the series’ shocking “Purple Wedding” episode. »

CW Renews ‘Whose Line Is It Anyway?’

Continuing with the success of its solid ratings, the CW has ordered a third season of “Whose Line Is It Anyway?,” network president Mark Pedowitz announced on Friday. The 24-episode cycle of the improvisational comedy show will air in 2015.

Whose Line Is It Anyway?,” adapted from the U.K. series of the same name, found cult success after its eight season run on ABC and ABC Family before ending in 2007. The show was picked up in 2013 by the CW with Aisha Tyler replacing host Drew Carey.

The show has regularly featured comedians Wayne Brady, Colin Mochrie and Ryan Styles. On the CW, “Whose Line” has also regularly brought on guest stars to join in the improvisational skits, including “The Vampire Diaries’” Kat Graham, Olympic gold medalist Tara Lipinski and “Glee’s” Darren Criss.

The new season has not yet been given a premiere date.

Chris Wood Is Next to Join The Vampire Diaries Season 6

Another recurring character has been added to the upcoming sixth season of "The Vampire Diaries," and it's someone who's quite familiar with the concept of keeping secrets in written form. Chris Wood, formerly of "The Carrie Diaries," is heading to Mystic Falls!

Per TV Guide, Wood (who has also appeared in "Girls" and "Major Crimes") will play Kai, a "charmingly unstable newcomer with the unsettling ability to seem normal as the situation demands. He can be both playful and obsessive with a mix of adolescent angst."

The show returns on October 2nd, and Kai will be introduced during Episode 6.03.

Along with Wood and the previously announced Gabrielle Walsh and Colin Ferguson, TV Fanatic learned that Marco James, Emily C. Chang, Jayson Warner Smith, and Jodi Lyn O'Keefe are also slated to appear in Season 6.

Recently, Access Hollywood aka Ah Nation, chatted up Vampire Diaries Bonnie beauty, Katerina Graham, and she served up a couple,new teaser spoilers for Bonnie in the upcoming season 6, and more (video below). In the new clip, Kat said, she's definitely returning for season 6, and would like to return as a witch again. But, she still has no clue what the producers are actually going to do with her character. The Ah people threw out a suggestion of Bonnie, possibly coming back evil at one point. Yesterday we learned Wbtv is expanding its 2014 Sd Comic-Con events to include Saturday night, and now we have their full schedule, which includes the "iZombie" and "Constantine" pilots plus returning favorites like "Tvd," "The Originals," "Supernatural," and "The Following."

Wbtv Comic-Con 2014 Panels to Include Constantine, iZOMBIE, Supernatural, and More

Warner Bros. Television will be out in full force at the San Diego Comic-Con, with events taking place all weekend. We told you that they’d be screening the pilot episode of Gotham, but it has just been announced that they’re also screening the pilots for Constantine and iZOMBIE.
