Vote for the biggest surprise from the past season, while getting scoop on what’s to come in season five.
From the moment Elena (Nina Dobrev) first bore her fangs, we knew The Vampire Diaries‘ fourth season was going to be something special. Relive the 10 biggest shockers of season four, and get the latest season five spoilers. Just think: There’s more of this madness to come!
1. Elena & Stefan Break Up
We’ve seen this play out before, but that was all a show for Katherine. This time, it was really for real — and it resulted in a super-weepy, unappealing Stefan (Paul Wesley) for most of the remaining season.
2. Elena & Damon Have Sex
Before the experience was ruined by news of the alleged sire bond, this was the show’s hottest hookup ever. Damon (Ian Somerhalder) and Elena made that entire mansion their bitch, and an endless number of gifs were born. »

Note: Do not read on if you have not yet seen the Season 4 finale of The CW's "The Vampire Diaries," titled "Graduation."
"The Vampire Diaries" finale closed some doors, but opened a lot of other ones. Stefan (Paul Wesley) is in a safe at the bottom of the ocean after Silas revealed to the younger Salvatore brother that he is his doppleganger and pushed him off a cliff; Damon (Ian Somerhalder) and Elena (Nina Dobrev) confessed their love for one another; Bonnie (Kat Graham) brought Jeremy (Steven R. McQueen) back from the dead, but now she's officially a ghost; Klaus (Joseph Morgan) and Caroline (Candice Accola) shared a tender moment; Katherine (Dobrev) is now a human after Elena shoved the cure down her throat; and Matt (Zach Roerig) and Rebekah (Claire Holt) finally kissed and planned a summer vacation far from Mystic Falls.

The Vampire Diaries took a few crazy turns on the May 16 season finale, and it sounds like executive producer Julie Plec is just getting started. In a new interview with E! Online, she hints at her plans for all of your Mystic Falls faves this fall.
Damon & Elena Finally Find Happiness
Believe it or not, Julie says we’ll actually get to see Damon (Ian Somerhalder) and Elena (Nina Dobrev) “happy” for a little while in season five. Yes, you read that right: happy!

After this game-changing fourth season finale, nothing — and no one — is ever going to be the same in Mystic Falls.
Before I start talking about the May 16 season finale of The Vampire Diaries, I need to offer this disclaimer: I’m just as confused as the rest of you, as the final two minutes of this episode blew my mind into tiny little pieces. Yes, Elena (Nina Dobrev) chose between the brothers, someone got the cure — but there was another twist waiting in the wings that I never saw coming…
Stefan Is A Doppelganger?!
Yeah, you read that right. With Silas turned to stone, Stefan (Paul Wesley) took his body to the lake, intending to bury him at sea for good. But that’s when Silas revealed that, not only is he very much alive, but his true form is actually Stefan! Apparently Silas is the one who created the »

"The Vampire Diaries" has done it again.
Going into tonight's Season 4 finale, "Graduation," we knew a few things would happen: The gang would graduate, in a poignant scene that celebrated their history together. Elena would, once again, make a choice between Stefan and Damon. One character who had previously died would return from the dead. And, of course, we knew that someone would take the cure for vampirism and turn into a human. But while we were busy asking who would get the cure and who would spend the summer making out with Elena, we kind of forgot about another season-long mystery: Why won't Silas let anyone see his real face?
The slight of hand gave us one of the most jaw-dropping finale twists ever... and it was just one of many. We spoke with executive producer Julie Plec about what sort of fall-out to expect from some of the »

"The Vampire Diaries" finale is almost here and according to the stars of The CW's hit series, you won't be disappointed. Arielle Kebbel, who's recurred as Lexi since Season 1, returned in the penultimate episode, along with many other late supernatural characters on the series after Bonnie (Kat Graham) dropped the veil, leading virtually every hunter, vampire, werewolf, etc. who has died in the course of the series to return to Mystic Falls and seemingly, leaving Bonnie dead.
Though there have been plenty of tears shed -- amongst cast members and fans -- throughout the fourth season of "The Vampire Diaries," the finale will leave you smiling. "I think you guys are going to love it," Kebbel told The Huffington Post at The CW 2013 upfront red carpet on Thursday. "You'll be sad because it's over 'til next season, but I think you'll be very happy."
Also among the back-from-the-dead characters is »

‘The Vampire Diaries’ stars united to promote the upcoming fifth season of their show in NYC — and they both looked incredible.
Elena and Damon may be facing hell on the May 16 season finale of The Vampire Diaries, but their portrayers – Nina Dobrev and Ian Somerhalder – were the pictures of perfection on the black carpet at The CW Upfront presentation earlier that day in New York City.
During the actual presentation, Ian and Nina joined CW President Mark Pedowitz on stage to help introduce the network’s new crop of original programming.
Despite Ian and Nina’s recent breakup, the stars couldn’t have been friendlier with one another, putting on a great show for everyone in attendance.

The CW officially unveiled its new programming May 16 during the network’s Upfront presentation, and while The Vampire Diaries is hardly a new series, we did get a taste of what’s to come when the show returns for its fifth season this fall — and yes, it’s “shocking!”
‘The Vampire Diaries’ Season 5: Three Big Spoilers
1. “Some” of the characters will be going to college, the network confirms, leaving Matt’s (Zach Roerig) educational future in question. Did he fail those classes?!
2. We’ll see “a newly cured vampire trying to survive as a human.” We’ll find out who that is on tonight’s season finale, but for now, any guesses?

Well, I’m not positive we’ll need the tissues, but since the title of tonight’s episode of The Vampire Diaries is “Graduation”, it’s a possibility. And wow, wouldn’t it be great if they finally gave up on the idea of being high school students? Because that has been the most unbelievable plot point in this whole series. I’ll believe in dopplegangers Way before I’ll believe those kids attend class.
Anyway, tonight is the promised-to-be epic season finale, so grab the popcorn and settle in with the rehash, TV spot, and clips before the show starts:

Jeremy and Alaric returned. Elena embraced her full humanity. And Bonnie... died?!?
Yes, the penultimate episode of The Vampire Diaries Season 4 gave our Round Table team of Matt Richenthal, Leigh Raines, Miranda Wicker and Steve Marsi plenty to discuss.
So gather around now and let's breakdown "The Walking Dead," shall we?
-------------------------------------------
What was your favorite scene from the episode?
Matt: Locker 42. Bro-on-bro hug. The swiping of The Cure. It's safe to say I loved everything about Alaric's appearance.
Leigh: I have a feeling a lot of the Round Table is going to rank this scene pretty highly too: Alaric and Damon's reunion in the hallway. The use of the words "best friend," Locker 42, the bro-hugging. Cult is cancelled... can we have Matt Davis back now???
Miranda: Five words: Alaric.Saltzman. "Need a hand." Ahhh!!! Can he pleasepleaseplease stay forever? Julie, make nice with Matt Davis and keep him around! »
