Death Race 3 currently filming

15 December 2011 10:35 AM, PST | JoBlo.com | See recent JoBlo news »

Death Race 2 was perhaps better than people expected from a Dtv followup to a mediocre remake, and Universal's 1440 Entertainment is hard at work on another one. They're currently down in South Africa shooting the film with Luke Goss (Death Race 2), Danny Trejo and Ving Rhames. Familiar faces to the series include Fred Koehler, Robin Shou, and Tanit Phoenix, and joining the series will be Dougray Scott )(Mission: Impossible II”) and Hlubi Mboya (How To Steal 2 Million). »

Paul W.S. Anderson Talks Death Race: Inferno

15 December 2011 12:37 AM, PST | DreadCentral.com | See recent Dread Central news »

Say what you want, but this writer is a huge fan of Paul W.S. Anderson's Death Race franchise. With a surprisingly strong sequel/prequel released earlier this year and with production on Death Race: Inferno recently under way in South Africa, we checked in with Anderson (who helmed the first remake and has stayed on board the franchise ever since) during our recent Resident Evil: Retribution set visit to get his thoughts on this third installment and what the current status on the sequel is.

Anderson said of his involvement with the growing franchise, "I write the storylines still for each of the movies, and then Tony (Giglio) puts it together. Jeremy (Bolt) and I come on to produce each of the movies, but we're not sitting on set necessarily worrying about all the nuts and bolts. We're definitely very involved with the Death Race movies heavily on the creative side, »

10 retro videogame to movie adaptations we’d like to see

18 November 2011 6:24 AM, PST | Den of Geek | See recent Den of Geek news »

Inspired by the announcement that an adaptation of 80s coin-op Rampage is in the works, here’s a list of ten other 80s videogames we’d like to see in cinemas…

If the news we brought to you on Friday is to be believed, we could soon see a big-screen adaptation of 80s arcade machine Rampage before too long. And with recent years seeing Hollywood take inspiration from such disparate properties as Battleship (out next year), Stretch Armstrong and Asteroids, it seems that the dusty arcades of yesteryear are becoming as inspiring as old board games and half-forgotten toys.

With this in mind, we’ve dredged through the history of the 80s golden age of coin-ops to bring you a few of our own adaptation concepts. Do bear in mind that some of these ideas are better than others, so if you’ve suggestions of your own, feel free to »

Here is a chilling trailer for the indie thriller Seven Below (formerly Seven Below Zero). The film was directed by Kevin Carraway from a screenplay he penned with Lawrence Smith. The cast includes Val Kilmer (Twixt, The Thaw), Ving Rhames (Piranha, Dawn of the Dead), Luke Goss and Rebecca De Costa. It is currently being shopped at Afm this week, so we will likely be reporting soon of it's purchase.

Here is the synopsis:

"The story centers on a group of strangers brought together when a terrible storm leaves them stranded in a house in the woods where a terrible event transpired exactly 100 years prior. The group seems trapped in a ghostly time warp, and history is repeating itself."

Watch: Early Trailer for 'Seven Below' with Val Kilmer & Ving Rhames

Sometimes the past comes back to haunt you. An early sales promo trailer for Seven Below, a haunted house horror-thriller starring Ving Rhames, Luke Goss and Val Kilmer among others, has debuted via Bloody-Disgusting. This indie horror involves a house where a group of strangers end up together, and history begins to repeat itself, as 100 years before some kid went crazy and killed his whole family. It looks pretty terrible. Between this and Twixt, it's sad to see Val Kilmer ending up in crappy, low budget straight-to-dvd horror, but that's pretty much what this looks like. "This is my sanctuary, your souls belong to me!"
