Prince William & Kate Middleton Say Goodbye To La & Wrap Up Royal Tour!

11 July 2011 5:59 AM, PDT | HollywoodLife | See recent HollywoodLife news »

After a whirlwind trip to Canada and a 3-day visit to the Golden State, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have boarded their flight to head back across the pond!

Hollywood has officially fallen in love with Prince William and Kate Middleton. The happy couple arrived at Lax on July 10 all smiles and we can see why — their Royal Tour went off without a hitch! They were greeted by four beautiful blonde British Airways flight attendants as they made their way out of a black Range Rover.

William and Kate opted to not take a private plane and instead took their first class seats aboard a commercial flight for their trip home — how humble! But they did arrive with a police escort of 17 officers from the Californian Highway Patrol — who even tied mini British flags to their motorcycles!

The trip in La consisted of a glamorous Hollywood gala where they »

Also on hand were actress Catherine Keener, supermodel Linda Evangelista and Kristin Gore, daughter of former Vice President Al Gore. - Mike FleemanPHOTOS: Will & Kate's Canadian »

David O. Russell’s ‘Nailed’ Takes a Step Closer to Release

11 April 2011 4:30 PM, PDT | Slash Film | See recent Slash Film news »

The story of David O. Russell's political satire Nailed is a long, rather sad one, and it isn't over yet. While most of the film was shot in 2008, multiple shutdowns and the financial ruin of Capitol Films finally caused the incomplete film to be put on the shelf. But now current owner Ron Tutor is trying to do something to recoup the $26m put into the film. Not long ago a rough edit was shown to a test audience, and now John Swihart has been hired to write a score for the film. But with David O. Russell officially having pulled away from the project [1], will every effort to finish the movie end up being futile? Film Music Reporter [2] (via The Playlist [3]) reports on John Swihart's hire; he replaces Sam Spiegel, aka Squak E. Clean and Spike Jonze's brother, who was reportedly doing music for the film »

John Swihart Hired To Score David O. Russell's 'Nailed'; No More Squeak E. Clean Music?

11 April 2011 11:04 AM, PDT | The Playlist | See recent The Playlist news »

The saga continues for David O. Russell's "Nailed," his aborted, troubled farce that he walked away from last year, but is still in the hands of financiers who are trying to get some kind of finished product released. Shooting on the film — written by O. Russell and Kristin Gore, daughter of Al — began in 2008 but was plagued by multiples delays and financial struggles on account of David Bergstein's shady dealings. Despite all that, production was noted to be only days away from completion with formerly silent partner Ron Tutor coming out from the shadows last year in… »

Reader Report: A Very Raw, Rough & Early Cut Of Unfinished David O. Russell's 'Nailed'

3 March 2011 8:46 AM, PST | The Playlist | See recent The Playlist news »

While he's squarely back on top and the memory of controversial past dust ups are long in his rear-view mirror, filmmaker David O. Russell probably hoped 2008, not 2010/11, would prove to be his comeback year. But as shitshow film productions go, his political satire, "Nailed," co-written by Al Gore's daughter Kristin Gore, was a spectacularly disastrous one. However, known for his infamous spats with actors in the past (George Clooney, Lily Tomlin), the dramas of "Nailed," were centered around the unfortunate financial circumstances outside of his control and by all accounts the sole fault of now-infamous film distribution swindler… »

David O. Russell Adds ‘Cocaine Cowboys’ To His Crowded Plate

22 February 2011 5:45 PM, PST | Slash Film | See recent Slash Film news »

It's a pretty great time to be in when David O. Russell is as talked-about a director as any in Hollywood. That certainly wasn't the case in years past, or when it was, the subject was the director's temperament rather than his work. But since taking The Fighter he's been looking at many new projects -- at times quickly flipping from one to the next -- almost as if he's trying to weave and juke his way to a surprise 'next film' announcement. Now there is word that the long-gestating film Cocaine Cowboys is his latest possible next project. The Playlist [1] spoke to the director briefly at the Ace Eddie Awards over the past weekend, and when asked about what he's making next. Mr. Russell said, I’m working on Drake’s Fortune right now. I’m really digging it, I think the story’s coming together in a really intense cool way, »

Will David O. Russell pull 'Two Guns' before he gets 'Uncharted'?

12 January 2011 10:45 PM, PST | Hitfix | See recent Hitfix news »

The rehabilitation of David O. Russell has got to be one of the most impressive rebounds in recent Hollywood history. It was not that long ago that "Nailed" finally sputtered to a halt, unfinished, unreleasable, an albatross around the neck of its filmmaker.  That was on top of the sort of low-grade non-stop barrage of "David O. Russell is an asshole" press that came out of his Clooney-spats on "Three Kings" and his YouTube moments from the set of "I Heart Huckabee's." "Nailed" was a script by Kristin Gore that Russell signed on to rewrite and direct.  He started shooting with »
