In 1956, won two Tony Awards with husband-collaborator Albert Hackett for "The Diary of Anne Frank:" as Best Authors (Dramatic) and for their script as part of the Best Play win.

Won the 1956 Pulitzer Prize for Drama for the play "The Diary of Anne Frank" collaborating with Albert Hackett.

Acted on stage with Ruth Chatterton in 'Come out of the Kitchen' in 1916.
